Zambrero Warrnambool — Restaurant in Victoria

We have just had the most horrific experience with this restaurant. To be fair the food was actually ok. BUT...

The restaurant was empty when we arrived but the tables were filthy. We had to clean them down with our own hand packed sanitizer and wipes. There was no sanitizer at restaurant and clearly no covid protocol. I reiterate the restaurant was completely empty with two assistants doing absolutely nothing.

We were asked by one of the very young and abrupt assistants where we were from. We told her Melbourne. She responded that we shouldn’t be traveling at the moment. We responded nicely that we had started before the Melbourne outbreak and that were are from Mornington Peninsula - not a hot spot.

After paying for our food and sitting at the table (that we had cleaned) we were asked to leave because we’re from Melbourne. We had a 5 and 7 year old with us and nowhere to take our food. There was no one else sitting in the restaurant and we had our own sanitizer and wipes.

We were shocked by this ignorant and ill informed...

I love Zambrero :) I love the menu, the philosophy, the staff, the speed of service, the vegan options... Oh, no, wait: I'm talking about other Zambreros.

Warrnambool Zambrero: hmmm, I dunno how they've done it but my standard order tasted... dusty, dull... is 'stale' the word I'm looking for? How the heck do you make mexican, which you've only just that minute made, taste dull and stale?

Staff were kinda dreary. Chairs were kinda sticky. I had a kinda sad burrito.

On the plus side, it was a meagre proportion compared to other Zamb's I've eaten at, so there was less to suffer I suppose.

Please lift your game Warrnie Zambi, I may go back but only once more. There's a lot of good places to eat in town if you can't be bothered to do it well. (Thank Yay for Ballarat Zambrero, always...

Ordered 3 burritos and 1 nachos. We received a text message to say it would arrive in half an hour. After not hearing anything an hour later we called the store asking about the order. The employee said the order was prepared and ready to go but the driver had not arrived and they were not sure when the driver would arrive. They offered a free soft drink for the order being late. Unfortunately, the order arrived 30 minutes later (so an hour and a half after we had originally ordered). When we received the food it was stone cold. It had obviously been sitting there ready in the store for about an hour before we received it. The burritos were also super soggy and I couldn’t eat mine. We called the store to let them know that the food was cold when it arrived and...
