Weeroona Hotel — Restaurant in Wallaroo

Food is great, huge portions, very reasonably priced. Typical pub style cross good old home cooked meals. I could not finish any of the meals i had because the portions are so generous. They also do takeaways. Dining room area separate from the main bar which was nice.

I stayed in their rooms upstsirs. Unfortunately I was here when they had a break in. I went downstairs to request an extra blanket as I am a cold frog. Their keys were stolen and they were unable to get into the linen cupboard until the locksmith came to replace the locks. Leanne straight away offered to.bring a blanket of her own from her place (lives on site) to my room shortly afterwards (was serving behind the bar). It was a large lovely soft minky blanket.that was really nice and warm - something that she did not have to do.

The rooms are basic, but typical old pub style accommodation - there's a wardrobe to hang your clothes in, and a hand basin, toilets and showers are shared and down the hall (separate male and female), small tv lounge down the hall also. As with most above pub accommodation it was a bit loud, but you expect that. Prices for accommodation are very affordable.

21/12/2021 Just a heads up. We have been back twice since the first time. All I can say is never disappoints. Got to sit outside with the lovely view. Loved the front bar atmosphere every time we have gone.

I have to say when I walked it didn't have much going for it. Well it's true never judge a book by its cover. I think her name was Annette in the front bar was great. Very friendly and insightful. Told us the history of the hotel and the ghost in room 11. It was quiet, but the atmosphere was perfect. Simple counter pub meal. Chicken Schnitzel and chips. When it came out, it didn't look special. Nothing to write home about. It looked like every other Schnitzel I have had in the past. Well I was wrong. It was juicy, full of flavour and the gravy was perfect as well. The chips might looked undercooked but they were not. It's because the oil was clean and not old and dirty. At the end of the meal she came back over to us and provided a tip on places to go. The whole experience was worth my 5 stars. We are already talking...

First time visiting the pub, on the recommendation of a friend who is a local and have to say am pretty disappointed in my experience... Our reservation was for 6pm, our order was taken at 6:24, our meals were brought out to us at 7:20... There was absolutely no apology from the person who brought our meals out, no indication from the person taking our order that due to lack of staff there would be a longer than normal wait for our meals, nothing... I had the special pasta, chicken carbonara, was also disappointed with that... was not enough flavour, was very bland... My daughter had the same and hers was oily and had way to much sauce and hardly any chicken... Once we were finished we sat at our table for a good 5-6 minutes and in that time, no one came to clear our dishes... As we left all we got...
