Jade Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Warragul

A very boring and less inviting place to dine in at Warragul on cold wintry day. The owner needs to hire Gordon Ramsay to give a facelift to this dying restaurant.

My partner and I were greatly disappointed with the food we ordered. I ordered pepper chicken which doesn’t have a peppery taste at all. It has boring vegetables which easily can be fished out from Coles. My partner ordered mix vegetables with garlic 🧄 sauce with rice. What can I say about that. He’s dumbfounded by the beauty and taste. The steamed vegetable dumplings are pathetic and the fillings in the dumplings reflect the restaurant is financially struggling to keep open.

The service was pleasant but not attentive though the restaurant was not overly populated with people.

After googling reviews of Chinese food in warragul, and seeing Jade Chinese had 4.5 / 5, I thought that would be the best option. Well I was very disappointed in all that I ordered. According to the waitress, their most popular seller is HONEY CHICKEN ! That should have told me right then, that I was in the wrong Chinese shop. So many dishes to choose from and a very simple chicken with honey is their #1. I went with that, and No, not a good choice. Dry strips of chicken in a very salty and thick batter, that was still gooey inside. The chicken corn soup, edible, but full of clear "jelly like" thickening or something. Yuk! The meal itself was good, however..... The couple before us and the couple after us were afforded the courtesy of the bottle of water and bowls of crackers, we were ignored! The we noticed the handling techniques of the waiter staff.... holding a customers glass by the rim to place it the table, also holding a stubby by the neck so that her hand was around the lip. Another server then carried glasses to a table as if she was holding a six pack. We ordered entrees and main meal....waitress brought my entree and asked if this was my main, then they brought my wife’s main and were surprised she wanted her entree first.
