Browns Depot Bakery — Restaurant in Warrnambool

Made me a LIFE SAVING coffee and a great big drippy ham-cheese-avo with sundried tomatoes (which was a suggestion by the staff and a very good one) toastie on my first trip to Warrnambool in years. Now I come here every time I’m in town. My only complaint is that they are very bad for my diet, as their wide selection of pies, cakes, rolls, slices and what have you is tough to avoid and it’s not at all difficult to leave carrying your bodyweight in baked goods. That chocolate muffin I had last time (okay…and the time before as well…) was a problem. I think they’ve managed to engineer something that is chocolatey-er than chocolate. 5 stars for service, but I gotta say (in the nicest way possible) Have you tasted the veggie pastie? Because I’m sure if you had you wouldn’t be selling it in the state that it’s in. Oh boy I’m sure that recipe has got you through many years but I wonder how long it’s been since someone double checked what it actually tastes like? It’s somehow a combo of very over cooked bland veggies combined with very raw flavourless chunks, in all honesty, it was the texture of spew and not even sauce could salvage it. But gee wizz you guys are nice and I wish you all the best with your future...

When I return to Warnambool, for the next one month job, I'll stay well clear of this joint.

Exceptionally rude service from the blonde woman behind the counter. After checking my ID and demanding to see a permitted worker permit, when the other 8 or so tradies in there didn't have to produce any I'D, I was furious.

And then the bacon and egg with cheese and BBQ sauce, came with no sauce or cheese.

I'll find another bakery for breakfast for every day I'm here for the...
