Dôme Café - Kingsley — Restaurant in Western Australia

This is my second review but didn’t receive a response for this particular issue. My mum loves coming here but unfortunately she is in a wheelchair!! Trying to navigate our way into your establishment with a wheelchair is near impossible to the point I have to ask one of your customers to help lift my mums wheelchair over the ramp because it has a ridge and needs to be evened out but ONE disabled bay????? This bay is so close to the ramp that is in disrepair that most times you can’t get through when there’s a car parked there or at a squeeze without damaging your customers car!!! I also have to ask for assistance with the door as the opening is small and my mum has to hold it open to get in!!!!! Then we have to move chairs and ask customers to move their chair in to get to a table????? PLEASE PLEASE consider that not everyone is able bodied and do something to accomodate people with disabilities or someone is going to get injured and for goodness sakes fix that ramp!!!! I consider this lack of care as quite discriminating and should be addressed as a priority!! I spoke to management and was told it was pretty much out of their hands. This is NOT true. If you really cared about your customers safety and welfare you would rectify this issue immediately. I work with disabilities also and most places have decent wheelchair access and more than ONE disabled bay and doors and ramps to accomodate wheelchairs. Disabled people have rights as well as able bodied people!!! On a positive note the coffee and carrot cake...

Standards have certainly lifted since the renovations. I don't know if it was a change of management, but the quality of the food is better, and coffees are tasting better.

January 3 2021 update: After this afternoon's lunch I'm changing my original five star review to four. I ordered a capricciosa pizza and I have to say - although I'm suitably aware that Dome Cafè is not a pizzeria - that it was sloppily made; rather rushed and presentation left much to be desired. Tasty enough? Sure, but a pizza snob may turn their nose up at it.

The cappuccino - on the other hand - great as always.

October 27 2025 update: standards have slipped. Portion sizes are miniscule and I don't feel as though I'm getting value for money any longer. The kitchen staff do not seem to care about the quality of product they're plating. After many years of coming to Dome in Kingsley, today's visit...

We had a wake on Valentines day and they were so accommodating. They blocked off the courtyard for us (signs saying private function) and had no Valentines decorations around us. Had a photo table set up for us. It was the perfect cafe as some could have beers and some could have coffee. As soon as we sat down there was lovely service with jugs of iced water within arms reach of everyone and replenished immediately. I definitely recommend going there for your next gathering. No venue hire/ fee charged for blocking off the courtyard for us. No minimum people asked by Dome. No minimum spend amount. Very fitting atmosphere for the somber occasion it was.
