Authentic hidden gem. We came here for lunch on the weekend. We had never been to this restaurant before but liked the sound of the authentic menu. It didn't sound like your 'normal' boring dishes that are typical of the 'British Indian Style' you get at most restaurants. This restaurant certainly didn't disappoint. We kept ordering more food as we went along as it was so nice. We enjoyed trying food that we hadn't tried before. The lady that took our orders was so lovely and friendly, polite and kind. We ordered a traditional Indian coffee and ginger and cardamon tea whilst perusing the menu (we ended up having 3 each throughout the meal as they were so nice). We ordered the Kuzhi Paniyaram for starters to share, which were a restaurant specialty. We had never had these tasty treats before. They came with two chutneys and were hot and delicious. For our mains we ordered a chicken kizi poratha which came wrapped in a banana leaf, an authentic south Indian chicken curry, which was a restaurant specialty and two tandoori roti. The kizi roti was presented in a wrapped banana leaf and was full of flavour with big chunks of chicken in it and melted in your mouth. The chicken curry had lots of chicken pieces in it and the gravy had lots of flavour, the roti was lovely and fluffy. We then ordered another drink each and a portion of chicken majestic. This had a lovely tangy taste and the chicken melted in your mouth. We then finished off our beautiful flavoursome meal with another hot drink each and a portion of semiya payasam and rasmali. This was a great way to end such a beautiful banquet. All the food was freshly prepared and came hot to the table. The service was first rate and the chef's skills were fantastic. It definitely brought back great memories from going to South India. The explosion of flavours in the dishes were fantastic. We will definitly make the 35 minute journey again to visit your...
