Geláre Ellenbrook — Restaurant in Western Australia

Firstly, came in the shop for the first time at Ellenbrook myself, my husband, and my son. My husband and my son wanted to try few ice cream flavours the Indian lady puts glasses on tried to ignore few times as we where trying few flavours and my husband kept repeating he wants to try it after that we placed order two large waffles with extra fruit and ice cream for me and my son but she put my husband off ordering because of her attitude while trying the flavours. After that we sat on the table, I am 37 weeks pregnant I went to the lady and asked her if I can use toilet and she said we don’t have one go try next door. I felt embarrassed for asking next door because we not ordering from there so I sat again on the table and another nice lady came to me and said we have stuff toilet that you can use if you like. It was nice of her. And after we had our waffles we wanted to order a takeaway one for my daughter at home and the lady with the glasses again said if it’s take away we need to pay full price even though it’s Tuesday and also we have been to another Gelare before and they would do takeaway ones for half price for us on Tuesday doesn’t matter if it’s takeaway or dining in so we didn’t order it and we just walked out. I’ll never go to Ellenbrook gelare again the other ones have much nicer service and stuff. So...

I can't give a full experiential review, because I got takeaway, and I understand it's not the same as sitting down, and experiencing the restaurant for how it's intended.

What I will say though is this place is a ghost town on a Friday night. I walked in to order waffles, and thickshakes, and as I sat down and waited, it was very clear that this place is either in a bad location, or people just don't care about ice-cream at 6pm. I was the only person in the restaurant, and it was pretty evident that nobody had been in for a long time either, if anyone at all had eaten there that night. Yet, somehow the girl behind the counter seemed to be always busy.

My order seemed to take a very long time to make, as I sat there wondering if the place is struggling financially. I mean, I was the only person, and I'd say my order wasn't enough to cover the costs of being open that night. Yet, I waited, and waited. Finally the food came. I got it home, and it was pretty enjoyable. Waffles were fluffy, sauces were good, ice-cream was good, thickshakes were good.

I worry about the fate of...

I am honestly very very disappointed in our visit to this store yesterday, so disappointed I left very angry 😡😡😡, and it really sucks to because I'm a family of 6 and every 2nd weekend I get off work and no matter what we ALWAYS go to Gelare on a Sunday to get our family favourite, it's like it's our ritual to go every 2nd Sunday and we spend any where between $45 - $80 per visit and why??? Because you guys are the best we love it.....but yesterday we ordered 3x sundaes and 1 take away sorbet, anyway last mi Ut e we asked to have ours all take away as we had something pop up last minute, that was fine, but to open our sundae and 80% of our sundae was whipped cream 5x thinly cut strawberries was very disappointing if I wanted nothing but whipped cream I would of went to Coles and brought 1 for $5.00. Never have I ever EVER had a sundae with 1 tiny scoop of icecream and 80% whipped cream. U have a look at your display sundaes not even the display 1z look like that....absolutely disappointing and have definitely lost a loyal customer will not recommend this...
