Grill'd Burgers - Applecross — Restaurant in Western Australia

This one star is for the area manager Russ who I saw aggressively bullying a young female staff member.

At 5:20pm on Thursday the 11th of July My partner and I went to grilled for a bite to eat after a working day. We sat down in a booth 2 at the back of the establishment and from the moment we sat down two people sat down behind us An older baldish male and a young female, the male was raising his voice in a bullying threatening manner telling the girl if he can do over 60 hours she has to do the same and do overtime and who cares if you stay back we all stay back. They were discussing breaks and the young girl was in extreme tears. The young girl couldn’t even speak as he kept cutting her off. I don’t feel like this is a conversation for the establishments floor especially where customers are seated to eat a meal. Know-one should be spoken to like that anywhere. He then cut the conversation and told her to get on with it as he said what he needed to say. I saw the girl wipe her eyes, pull herself together and went strait in to serving customers. Mean while this man walked to the kitchen front and said to the staff aggressively thanks for coming to say hi. He then left and I asked the girl if she was okay, she was in tears I found out her name was Heidi and the man’s name was Russ apparently the so called area manager who was throwing his title around. How disgusting, what poor form. He should not be in his position at all, the bullying behaviour he displayed is unacceptable. How can you have someone like this represent your establishment. He is no way an asset to the business or a leader to a team/area. You may not have known this but now you do. Leaders should be honoured to be in their role and not use their role to bully or be threatening towards their staff. Something needs to be done, how many staff members has he done this to. Heidi should file for workplace bullying because my partner and I are a witness to this sickening behaviour. I told her that not all work places are like this and don’t be scared to speak up. Please fix this and don’t keep the wrong people in...

The whole experience was very bad. The girl behind the counter didn't know how to take the order. It took a while, no token was given for the donation. I went to sit at the table, 3 tables at the back were dirty, left over food still on the table. Waited for someone to come clean the table which took a while, another customer asked the waiter staff. Till now it was still ok. Then my food arrived, wrong burger, food was just left at the table. Different staff member this time, she came from behind, placed the food and left. Didn't make sure if the order was right and by the time I figured out they brought me a meat burger (I ordered a veggie burger), she had already gone. I went and notified the girl at the counter. After me another person was served the wrong food as well. Then staff member brought me the burger , which was served already to another customer, back to me. No explanation, just placed the food on the table and left. It was very rude..this time it was only the burger no chips as I ordered. Burger was cold, as it had been sitting in front of another person. So I went and approached the girl who brought the food and asked her politely that I had also ordered chips. She comes back with chips which were again cold and same poor mannerism, just left the food at the table and went back. No apologies, not checking if I have the right order or not. Othe people were getting bit annoyed as well. No body came back later on to check if everything was fine or not. I left the cold chips and didn't enjoy the burger at all...very...

It's ok, that's how I'd rate grilled in Applecross, Venue is nice, sometimes really noisey as they get busy, that's fine, The food is consistently average, burgers are just not as good as other grilled stores, and I can't ever put my finger on why... Stale buns, undercooked Patty's Chips usually are dead, don't be afraid to send them back, Take away usually ok, But again paying $15 for a burger which is average... I guess you see where I'm going...

Staff interactions are ok, but like many places the quality of the staff affect the output of the food - average

If you can make the trip the Cockburn grilled is very good The vicpark one is on par with Applecross And Cannington... Plus parking for all three is problematic at best...

I'm not sure if this review helps.... But if you want a good burger... Sadly I'd say go elsewhere. To the point that the hungry jacks down the road is better... I know (!) The grill masters with their fake smokey sugary sause should not be even in the running to compete...

Don't take this as a huff review - I have been here 20-30 times over the last 3 years... As some other reviews cite, sometimes burgers are good... But I have not had a good burger from this grilled in years...

I visit at various times day / night - the food is always the same, yes staff are friendly, and the table stick system works if you miss out something, they will come and check so table service...
