BUT!!!!......As a local, it is refreshing to have a another eatery in town that is not a fast food outlet. The wait staff are friendly and the décor has a relaxed fresh ambience about it even my dog is welcome, at least to the table out front!!....my first visit was for lunch....lovely, so I started to visit on the weekend for breakfast. Their breakfast menu has something for most appetites and for me, I found the "Breakfast Salad". Similar to a competitors in Subi when I used to live there. This allowed for my guilty Bacon and Poached egg indulgence but as it was interspersed through a mixed leaf salad with Avocado, Cherry tomato's and aioli, this lessened the guilt. So for me 10/10 Well for some reason of late, a decision has been made to now serve this meal not on a plate but to squash it in a bowl that looks to be one of their Cereal bowls. This has now lessened the serve size I get, for the same money I paid when it was served on a plate. It is also more frustrating to eat with a knife and fork as it is in a utensil that has high sides. To add insult to injury, the amount of bacon that used to be served throughout this dish has now diminished to the point, where it is now only a salad with a poached egg on top. I still drop in for coffee but if I want a "Breakfast Salad" I go back to Subi. Kinda reminds me of Poly's, get you on board with great expectations then once you are hooked, change everything to suit...

But once we had a couple of kids we felt more and more uncomfortable eating there. In the past, the waitress has asked my toddler to stop swinging her legs while she is sitting as it makes a soft thudding noise when her foot touches the table leg, and we spent our entire meal reminding our toddler to sit still. On our last visit, the waitress was visibly irritated at my three year old for touching the cake glass display cabinet, so much so that she interrupted my order and angrily told me to stop her from touching the glass. My daughter was not causing any damage to the cabinet, to its writing, nor were there smudge marks. The waitress' contempt was so obvious that I felt too uncomfortable to continue order and we went to Wild Fig where we were greeted with colouring in pencils, a kid's menus and an overall cheaper adults menu! Everyone knows kids in cafes can be annoying, but ours were never loud or messy and never caused any damage, yet we felt like we felt so...
Read moreReally beautiful shop but there was no real connection from the staff...I tried ordering from the table but an item was missing so went up to order at counter and told the girl. She wasn't interested in listening to me, so even when I placed my order, she didnt seem like she cared...then proceeded to get it completely wrong. I really didn't feel welcome at all. The girls were on their phones behind the counter so seemed to be unaware of anything on the other side of their counter. First time I've experienced this here in Perth. We eat out alot and we've worked with the public in various careers for many years..101 is connection, listening to your patrons and be grateful we are in your business because we will be one of the best advocates for your business...I struggled to actually post this but my husband said if you don't tell them how will they learn! Eating out is a complete experience... you can have the best food in the world, but if the service and connection are not there.. you will have money walking out the door. Please see this as constructive, and we hope your business will learn...
