If there was capacity for 6 stars this establishment should get them. Service exemplary. From the moment we peered in the window when a staff member gestured to us to come in, right through to paying the bill, which, by the way, was a pleasant surprise, we were made to feel special. It was father's day and there was a rush from the moment of opening. However, the staff took everything in their stride and delivered the most scrumptious prawn and scallop fettucine for moi and gnocchi pescatore for mama. We also had the arancini balls to share for an entree. They were crisp on the outside and absolutely divine on the inside. We also took home a dessert each as we were very satisfied with the portions we enjoyed. All of this pretty much within an hour, but at no time did we feel rushed. Perfect. Admittedly I'm no jetsetting Marco Pierre White but Mamma Mias gnocchi is waaaaaaay out in front, miles of vacant space is 2nd and then there's a list of unremarkable experiences bringing up the rear. Last night's gnocchi zingara did not disappoint. Others at my table were not as impressed compared to their previous visits. The pescatore was lacking baby octopus & the massive fish plate that it is normally served on. The chicken kiev was not crumbed but this may be MM's version as I've not seen it served here before. I witnessed at least 6 plates go back in the kitchen just as full as they came out!! Unfortunately it’s no where near Italian food let alone Italian pizza. Porterhouse Steak dish was cooked as asked but extremely tough and obviously a poor quality cut. The elderly female waitress has absolutely no idea about smiling or greeting customers.
