Mei Yuen Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Western Australia

Where do i begin...We ordered three dishes. Fried rice, beef and black bean sauce and hokkein chicken noodle.

The rice was almost crunchy from the microwave they used to reheat it, the pork was fatty/chewy and left a bad taste in the mouth.

The beef and black bean was bland and without flavour, the sauce was watery and uninspiring.

The hokkein noodles were basically just oil and had almost no taste at all. The sauce was also watery and tasteless.

The first thing we saw was how FILTHY the kitchen was. There was food all over the floor and benches and it looked generally unclean. This is no understatement! The cook used his pants to wipe his hands "clean".

Afterwards i had noticed some numbers and letters on the containers and realised that everything had been pre-made and reheated.

We had to spit out fatty, chewy crunchy bits of cheap meat. My partner had to spit out an unknown object that we couldnt figure out what it was, it was rock hard. Disgusting!

We would normally never waste food but it was really inedible. We could both feel our stomachs starting to churn with disgust as we forced down what we had just paid for.

Extremely dissapointed, ive eaten at many chinese restaurants including with colleagues from china and this was nothing like the food i have previously tasted. Lacking in flavour and inspiration it was really just a...

Bad experience with Mei Yuen Chinese Restaurant which is really disappointing because they have been my go to for Chinese for a while now. So tonight I ordered 3 meals from them 2 of the meals were correct 1 wasnt. That was okay I called them up to explain that one of the meals was wrong only for them to tell me don't eat it bring it back tomorrow if you cant right now. I was trying to explain that I cant right now as I have a lil Boy only for the lady to hung up on me while I was trying to speak called back and she did exactly the same thing again.. The lady at the counter was so rude, very poor customer service first time I went there I ignored it cause it was busy. But I went in again and I couldn’t believe the way she spoke to me and was rolling her eyes.

I asked for 3 meals total, she only charged me 2 but I asked her if I could order 1 more meal but she got annoyed and started getting irritated. I told her dont worry I’ll go somewhere else and she grabbed the receipt and told me to take that.

I know there’s a language barrier there but if she actually listened I tried to order more food, isn’t that what their aim of business is? seriously she was so disrespectful it was frustrating.
