330pm karai and 2 veggie spring rolls
Karai - warm both rice and salmon no chili flavour really. Spring rolls - warm to cold missing flavour also. Very bland
Staff- just seem to want to get you in and out quickly always on phones customer service not the main concern at all.
Called to make them aware of the condition of my food and they told me that the fridge and bainmarie were at right temps and would tell manager. No apologies no real concern or care over the fact that this food could potentially bring in food poising.
Since the new owners have taken over the service has dropped considerably and the quality of food has also dropped which is really sad for a Japanese restaurant that used to be able to boast ultimately fresh food and took on customers concerns and dealt with them promptly it was always a warm and inviting place to go. I don’t think I will be returning now over 10yrs of frequenting this place iv tried to stay loyal the past year but...
Read moreYummy!! I don’t get it - what’s with all the bad reviews?! I ordered, then my partner said there were bad reviews..so I thought “uh oh…” But the food is great. We had the chicken katsu, vege curry and summer salad. It was all delicious, piping hot and I’d order all again. I don’t get it, am I missing something? I wanted to make the effort to leave a good review because some of the recent ones don’t reflect the yummy meals we got in any way and it’s a bit unfair. It’s a bit mean to leave a one star review (especially when the photo of the food looks good), it can bring down the overall rating of a place and it’s someone’s business and livelihood. We would eat here again - the summer salad was so tasty, the dressing was epic. I reckon I could eat it every...
Read moreBut will I come back? No. The food is below average. I was not impressed.
Will I recommend it to my family and friends? No.
The chicken and beef box we got was a bit dry, seems overcooked, taste and presentation is not something we would want again.
In comparison we went to Bosu Shushii the flowing weekend and we loved their food better and it is now our go to locally. Taste was superb, presentation was pleasing. Better.
At Mikado, it seems ordinary and not as presentable. Mikado means an emperor, so you'd think and expect something superior and something impressive and you'd want to be proud of and come back again. Sadly I did not feel or experienced that. I had expected it.
Taste, presentation needs to be elevated.
The service and atmosphere is OK though. The butcher next door and the fresh provisions nearby...
