Was recommended by a thai fella we met and my girlfriend is also from Thailand so we stopped in for lunch. Menu is simple with a perfect selection with some good choices to ease ozzys into thai food which can be a shock to some because thai food can be very spicy and bit smelly. But for thai people and ozzys who are used to it OMG its awesome and truly authentic. I ordered the Minced pork Pad Ka Pow with egg which did have a good kick of heat and tied with fragrant thai basil and a pallet cleansing slurp of thai tea was just perfect. My gf was recommended the Kaeng Pa with pork, although chicken or beef was also an option. It was a little smelly 😅 but she said it was delicious and authentically spicy so naturally a big spoonful was directed to my face for testing and beleive me it does taste much better than it smells, which only comes from a thai plant called finger root. The dish also came with a thai omelette and both were served with rice. And was washed down with an awesome thai iced tea which I had to have another because it's my favourite. We also ordered a Pad thai and the duck curry to take back home for dinner later which made our 2 hour drive home awesome because the car was perfumed with the smell of thai food. All up we paid $160 which gave us 4 big meals with 3 thai teas which fed us easily for lunch and dinner which was good value. For anyone who knows thai people food is an extremely important part of culture and after not being back for a while was a comforting reminder of home for my girlfriend. So keep up the good work guys and dont change a thing remember simplicity is the key 👌 we...
Read moreWe have had little success finding authentic Thai food in Perth so was keen to try Rym Tarng after reading some positive reviews.
Pad Thai - authentic flavor and texture of noodles perfect, with generous serving of egg. Only complaint is that serving size a tad small for the asking price - would be perfect if either size or price is adjusted. Papaya salad - very nice authentic dressing, like the what we had in Bangkok. But each bite was hard work on the jaws because the papaya and green beans were rather fibrous and chewy. I get it that these are meant to be raw but it would make the eating experience much more pleasant if they sliced/cut these ingredients finer/thinner. We drizzled the dressing on the pad thai, which enhanced the dish. But be warned the fire from the chili kicks in when you are half-way through. Green curry - the flavor of the curry sauce was fantastic though a midge salty. Pity they used breast chicken which was lean and dry. The skin of the eggplant was not edible - need a longer cook. Staff was lovely. Place very small so best to come during off peak periods. Overall, I find the lunch a tad overpriced for a...

Highly recommended! 👍
Homemade spring rolls-with shiitake mushrooms and bean vermicelli noodles
Tom Kha mushroom-coconut based soup. I've had this in other restaurants and it was way too sweet, but here, the soup was well balanced and leaned more towards a savoury flavour.
🆗 Papaya salad was nice and fresh with a punch of chili but it didn't leave me craving for more.
Pad Thai - well balanced with a tangy, savoury, slight sweet. Much better than other 3 Thai restaurants I've tried which were overly sweet.
Signature pork jowl - I personally don't like fatty pork, however, this signature dish prides itself with the thinly sliced meat from the 'neck'. Rendering 50%fat and pork. Adding to this dish is an interesting local raw 'coral mushrooms' and...
