Namaste Indian Restaurant in North Perth offers an authentic Indian dining experience that is sure to delight. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with traditional Indian decor and attentive staff who are eager to make your meal enjoyable. They made my partner feel fantastic about her birthday and provided a special dessert with a candle and a thoughtful gift which was totally unexpected. They go above and beyond here to make your dining experience special
Start your meal with the Vegetarian Platter, a delightful assortment of appetizers that showcases the variety and depth of Indian vegetarian cuisine. This platter includes a mix of vegetable pakoras, paneer tikka, and crispy samosas, all perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Each item on the platter offers a unique taste and texture, providing a wonderful introduction to the meal ahead.
One standout dish is the Kadhi Paneer. This dish features succulent pieces of paneer cheese cooked in a rich, tangy yogurt-based sauce spiced with turmeric, cumin, and a hint of chili. The paneer is perfectly cooked, with a soft texture that complements the creamy, slightly sour kadhi. The dish is beautifully balanced, not too spicy, and pairs wonderfully with both naan and biryani rice.
Another highlight is the Jeera Aloo. This simple yet flavorful dish consists of potatoes seasoned with cumin seeds, turmeric, and other spices. The potatoes are perfectly cooked, with a slight crispiness on the outside and a soft, fluffy interior. The cumin seeds add a warm, earthy flavor that makes this dish a perfect accompaniment to any meal. I had this as a substitute to having lots of rice and it worked well with the other dishes.
The Lamb Rogan Josh is a hearty, flavorful dish that is a must-try. The tender lamb pieces are cooked in a rich, aromatic sauce made with a blend of spices, including cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. The meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sauce is robust and flavorful without being overly spicy. This dish pairs excellently with the biryani rice, which is fragrant and well-seasoned, providing a perfect balance to the richness of the lamb.
No meal at Namaste is complete without their garlic naan. The naan is soft and fluffy, with a perfect amount of garlic that adds a deliciously savory note. It's the ideal bread for scooping up the delectable sauces from the Kadhi Paneer and Lamb Rogan Josh. The bread smelled fantastic and tasted so as well.
To finish your meal, don't miss out on the unique and delicious chocolate naan dessert. This innovative take on traditional naan is filled with melted chocolate, creating a warm, gooey treat that is both indulgent and satisfying. It's a delightful way to end your meal on a sweet note and showcases the restaurant's creativity and dedication to providing a memorable dining experience.
Overall, Namaste Indian Restaurant provides a fantastic dining experience with a range of flavorful dishes that capture the essence of Indian cuisine. The corkage charge here is very reasonable, so don't forget your favourite complimenting wine 🍷.The vegetarian platter, Kadhi Paneer, Jeera Aloo, Lamb Rogan Josh, biryani rice, garlic naan, and the irresistible chocolate naan dessert are all must-tries for anyone looking to explore traditional Indian flavors. Read moreFirst and foremost I don’t give poor reviews lightly and usually only offer negative feedback with a view to help the owner improve, it’s hard work running a restaurant! However we can’t figure out how these guys get 4.8… this visit was way off the mark.
We looked forward to a curry all week. First problem was put in a corner table with a draft from the front door… the door directly behind me kept opening for take away orders which was annoying as it kept giving a draft and we had to sit and listen to the take away customers chatting.
The starters came out with no garnish and where not entirely filling, just pieces of food dropped on random mismatched plates… certainly not 4.8 rated starters.
Then we had to wait a long time for our main course.. was so frustrating about the wait was the copious amounts of take away orders that were seemingly being prioritized over dine in customers.. it felt like maybe 30+ take away customers were served before we got our main course…
Main course eventually arrived, and to be fair they were really good, chicken and lamb dishes…lamb dish in particular was really tasty…the main problem with the main course was how small the naan breads were… tiny…!
By this point we just wanted to eat and get out of there as fast possible..
The manager tried to apologize and we accepted it. No discount was offered or extra drinks to make up for wait time. We paid full price. Again, we know how difficult it is to run a restaurant but this certainly wasn’t a 4.8 experience, I hope they can learn from it.
Will we be back possibly, I want to give them...
Read moreSmall but perfectly formed We were unable to fault anything from the warm welcome on arrival to the sincere farewell after the meal we were made to feel like honored guests. It’s always a good sign when the papadums are fresh crispy and not greasy. Vegetarian share plate for entree simple but perfectly seasoned and cooked and presented so beautifully. Every main was delicious and we were able to taste all the spices that made each dish individual a nice change from some place’s that seem to just add extra chili or coconut to change a base sauce into something else, even before eating we could tell by the colour and fragrance that we were in for a treat. Finally a massive thumbs up for the naans just devine. We will be heading back to Namaste very soon with lots of friends in tow Congratulations to all of the staff
So as advised we have now returned with some of our very best friends, they were so complimentary about every dish we tried new and exciting dishes.
