Read moreAfter play snooker and have a lovely meal at Namaste myself and 2 friends decided to have a nightcap at The Rosemont. The girl that served us would have to be the rudest surliest person I be seen in a while took our order placed the drinks on the bar away from us. Walked past us to the till arms swinging ( nothing in them) requested I come up to register to tap my card but after telling her I was paying cash refused to come get the money but demanded I walk up and hand it to her while she stood 3 meters away arm outstretched. After going down the other end to retrieve the beers she place on the bar I wasn’t up for her laziness and rudeness so I outstretched my arm towards her with the money. She looked at it but didn’t move so I placed the money on the bar to which she announced I’m not coming to get that. to which I said fine and continued talking to my friends it’s here when you want it. At this stage the bar manager arrived in front of us an stated you can’t be rude to our staff not even asking or understanding what was transpiring.. I was stunned and replied we are not being rude she is…. To which the barmaid who suddenly was empowered to move stood in front of me and stated you can drink that drink but you are not being served again. At which point I picked up my money that she couldn’t Take from my hand when offered only moments earlier and left with my two friends who were wiping the beer from their clothes the manager and said barmaid had snatch from their hands on realising their rude an unprofessional behaviour was not going to be tolerated. I’ve had drinks in the Rosemont hotel many times watched bands had good nights but this has soured mine and my friends view of it unfortunately don’t think I’ll be back. Read moreGonna miss Callum but this place has long been an institution for so many different communities decades beforehand. Special events and regular events like Rolla and the hip hop nights (except for the ego and graffing up the very venue that's supporting your community) the quiz nights which I used to actually do for a bit as MC, the beer garden is sublime. Great staff, great door staff and security and great management and owner. Can get pretty busy at busy times but that's a good thing for lots of people, can also be quite intimate and special at the right times. And a bottleshop affiliated right outside the venue what more could you want? 5 stars for Rosie ✨✨✨✨✨
(Unrelated to Rosemount) My only issue is with City of Vincent as they tricked me into thinking it was free parking after having not been for a long time (when it used to be free) and I was unaware it was now paid parking and from where I parked there were no visible signs saying that. I actually got the ticket while I was in the venue went out to my car for a quiet anxiety break, saw it and started paying for parking right away. I appealed they reckon I should have been more aware of my surroundings. Sincerest Apologies to City of Vincent for being Neuro Divergent and being brave to come out for the first time in years and full of anxiety and not observant enough to see new signs that weren't visible to me. But hey. Now I know.
At least you guys help support broke artists and creatives like myself. So I know my fine went to a good place I guess? Hats off to City of Vincent for making things accessible to people with psychosocial issues! 💜✊💛
