Just had the worst Nandos meal in my life today. Not sure what is going on with Nandos Canning Vale. Service: I was waiting in line to order and was left waiting for minutes (felt a long time and I was the only person). I also asked for a glass + water when I was at my table which I didn't end up getting. The store assistant wasn't rude, I think they were just so busy. Food: My chicken + churrasco bbq ribs were the wrong basting. I was also given the drumstick when I requested the wing part which the store assistant kindly returned for me (the only thing I returned). The new chicken was terrible though (what prompted this review). It tasted like they boiled/steamed and did not grill for long enough? The sauce was on it like they didn't cook it. The peri peri chips was cold and soggy.
Background: I go to Nandos average 2x/month (sometimes weekly) and go mostly in between Canning Vale or Southlands. I am not a difficult customer and am a big fan of Nandos. My order is always the same: Quarter Chicken (wing part, flavour BBQ+Hot mix) + Churrasco BBQ Ribs (flavour BBQ+Hot mix) + Large peri peri chips. Some recurrent issues: Portion sizes have reduced. Sometimes I feel pain when I see the size of the chicken for $20. Prices have increase. Basically x2. Nandos has become very busy which good for them, I wish the company well, but it does make me think twice if I am in a rush. Quality has dropped? Canning Vale store is erratic. Often they will get my flavour wrong. I think because I always order combination Hot + BBQ and maybe its abit weird do they often accidentally leave 1 flavour out. Large Peri Peri Chips feels like the old regular size. The Canning Vale staff had on a few occasion come to my table and ask me to leave a good review. I don't like this. I went at 9 o’clock with my husband and they had pretty much closed the entire sitting area. One area had all the chairs on the table and the other was closed ( with all the cleaning equipment). With the limited sitting we decided to place a take away order. So I placed a take away order around 9:15 pm and it said on my email it will be ready at 9:40 pm. As I ordered whole peri peri chicken, regular chips, large coleslaw. I then get a call that they can’t make my order as they close at 10 o’clock and this order of mine if they start making it, it will take longer than 10. Firstly they need to update their hours or stop taking orders online if they can’t make it. They can’t make my food as I placed my order approximately 45 mins or 1 hour before. I have paid for the food as well so hopefully I get my refund in 2 days time which they have said. The staff didn’t bother at all to apologise or accommodate their customer but cleaning and packing away everything was very important for them. This process of cleaning and closing should be done after 10 or they should update on their website they can’t take orders or no dinning. Worst experience and customer service. I am definitely not going again there. I couldn’t discuss this with the staff as they were too busy cleaning so just give us the recipient back and said refund will be done in 2 days time and went back to cleaning. Read moreI sent my adult daughter to pick up food I ordered online, which she had chosen for her birthday dinner to bring home to celebrate with the family. It was meant to be a happy occasion. She came home in tears 😡 The horrible, probably unhappy staff member, maybe created by the toxic culture under the current management, not only treated my daughter with disdain and kept her waiting for 30 minutes, while her order sat getting cold even though she knew it was my daughter's order, but did not call out to say it was ready to pick up. Instead she left it for my daughter to approach her to ask, after waiting for a very long time while everyone else received their orders or got served their meals. Was it spite or just a bully, she made my daughter feel very intimidated when she asked about her order and got handed the package that had been left sitting there for ages. Whoever this person is, either they have issues to deal with, require serious training in human decency or should never work in a customer service environment! My poor daughter came home and cried on her birthday.
In saying this, I am reminded of 2 other times I was in that branch and also noticed the poor service and staff depending on the supervisor in charge. Once I had to complain, seriously, you pay for a meal, sit down and everyone else finishes and leave while you're still waiting.
