The Paddo is an absolute standout when it comes to atmosphere, service, and quality. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and welcoming team who set the tone for a great experience. The staff are attentive, professional, and genuinely go above and beyond to make every visit memorable.
The food is consistently excellent, with a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes. Every dish is fresh, well-prepared, and packed with flavour — it’s clear that a lot of thought goes into both presentation and quality. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual meal or celebrating with friends, The Paddo delivers on every front.
The drinks selection is equally impressive, with an extensive range of beers on tap alongside a well-curated selection of wines and spirits. The beer is always cold, the pours are perfect, and there’s something for everyone, from craft enthusiasts to those after a classic.
The combination of great food, awesome beer, and outstanding staff makes The Paddo one of the best spots around. It strikes the perfect balance between a relaxed local pub and a vibrant social hub, making it a place you’ll want to return to...
Read moreWhat was a good pub has probably now got the worst experience I’ve had in a bar in Perth. Asking a female to leave because another random group (who left and clearly was drunk off their minds) wanted to start a fight. Keeping in mind I hadn’t event left my seat to speak to these so people nor had seen them when they were in the premises. Just because there’s a Conor Mc Gregor fight on doesn’t mean every Irish person wants to start a fight. Your manger was beyond rude. What ever happened to staff not wanting fights to happen and having the safety of other customers.. even the group of people sitting behind us were baffled as to why we had to leave. Would ask for an apology but realistically after the way we got spoke to clearly I won’t be getting one. Perhaps your sercurity and manger should have kicked those people out long before considering one of them needed several people to hold her up for how drunk she was. Instead you asked another customer leave ‘that group has an issue with you, so you need to leave and take it outside.’ Probably should have left to go get beat up by people I never said a word, thanks for being the least...
Read moreThe Paddington Ale House, the Paddo to regulars, is located in hustle & bustle of Mount Hawthorn. This long running iconic pub was established in 1932 and has been a very popular watering hole over the years.
The main dining area is off to the right of the main entrance, with several cosy ‘nooks’ to relax and enjoy yourself. Bi-fold doors open out to the shaded courtyard that seats up to 40 people. There is a large bar running through the venue to function room and sports bar at the back.
The meals offered are traditional pub grub to modern Australian cuisine, with daily lunch and dinner specials, available 7 days a week. We chose the salt and pepper squid with chips and salad and the vegan burger with a couple of pints of cider. The meals were very generous in size and tasty.
I was quite surprised to see so few people at the Paddo on a Friday night. Maybe we dined early or possibly covid has kept the numbers low. A lovely pub with old world charm, dog friendly and free pool...
