I was very excited to try this bar after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t the best. It was a Saturday dinner service for a table of 11 that was booked well in advance. As we were seated, the waitress told us they had run out of spring rolls, oysters and ravioli.
When we went to place our order at the counter we were told they had also run out of fried rice (and all rice in general!). When the last couple placed their order, they were told there’s no more chicken wings.
During the night, service was not attentive at all. No refilling of water jugs, no mention of the kitchen approaching closing time. I had to ask to see a dessert menu and was told “I’ll have to check as the kitchen is closed”. All in all, it felt like we were invisible diners. I was enjoying the company I was in, so that masked the poor service. But upon reflection the next day, the service was not up to the standard you would find (and expect) at most fine dining restaurants.
With a very small menu to start with and so many dishes “out of stock” there wasn’t much to try…here’s my review anyway… Chicken wings 7/10 - good portion size and well cooked, but not the best I’ve had. Mushroom dumplings 4/10 - 4 small pieces and overly salty. Bak choy 2/10 - some were sandy also overly salty. Fried Potatoes 10/10 - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the miso mayo was delicious. Bread with butter 10/10 - probably the best dish, loved the butter. Silk Road Cocktail 8/10 - well made, but very limited cocktail menu.
We may have caught them on a really bad day, but it’s a shame I won’t be going back...
Read more|Parley Bar - Mount Pleasant/ Applecross Fantastic little hidden gem, not that busy on the days and times that I have been there. Very good spot for a discreet meet. 😉 (Heard Fri and Saturdays gets busy from 6-10pm- bookings essential for food)
Superb cocktails (spicy margarita / espresso martini and Whisky sour 🤌🏽) probably one of my favorite Venues in Perth that can get every cocktail we ordered correctly!)
🌶️🌶️The spicy margarita was 10/10 spiciness and the ingredients were correctly used to create this beauty. If you're a spicy margarita lover, you would know what I mean 😜🌶️🍸🔥
Customer service is fantastic- friendly and attentive to their local customers. Owners are often mingling with the customers.
Tried the food here today and it was so delicious! Just the right amount of flavour, makes you wanna eat your fingers with it. The jus and ingredients they use are strong (in a good way!) but bold and a true foodie who loves flavours of all kinds of food would appreciate the menu here. Keen to go back to try more dishes!! Ps. That spaghetti looking thing on the spring roll is just a sauce being squeezed out of a small decorative tube!. So deceiving and so cool !!

Read moreMy experience here was abysmal. We ordered 3 steaks and was told by the server that the steaks are huge and designed for sharing, when i checked the price it was standard steak pricing. we asked for medium rare for the 3 steaks and the reply was that they cannot promise how the steak will come out, it will either be medium rare or well done. They came out well done. I ordered dumplings which came out on a laksa kind of sauce. The dumpling pastry was raw, you can easily see it is not close to being cooked at all. instead of checking with the chef, the server explained that this is not a chinese dumpling but an italian dumpling. the pastry is full of flour taste and not edible. I tried to order mocktails, there was only 4 on the menu, it sounded like they did not want to bother making them because each mocktail was out of stock. The girl who serving , speaking to us was a bit shocking, it was...
