INSULTED BY STAFF.

We had dinner here tonight and left feeling utterly disappointed. After dining here every Wednesday for years, tonight was the last straw. The waitress approached our table and said, “You guys have been here for a few years, right? I’ve seen you a lot. Please don’t share the iced tea next time.” For context: We always order a full-size meal plus a re-up meal with chips and an iced tea. My husband has one sip of the iced tea - the rest is mine. ONE SIP. Yet she addressed us as though we were trying to stretch one drink between a footy team.

There is no mention anywhere on the menu of this so-called “rule.” And really - we’re talking about an iced tea that costs them maybe 50 cents. We were made to feel like we’d committed some petty crime. We politely said “OK” and left it there. But then, in a tone that made the situation even worse, she dropped another iced tea on our table and said, “Tonight, this is on the house.” The implication was insulting - as though we couldn’t afford a $5 drink. We just finished dinner and left the "complimentary" drink on the table untouched.

We’ve spent $40–$50 here every single week for years. That loyalty clearly meant nothing. So goodbye, Royal Wembley. You haven’t just lost two customers - you’ve lost two people who truly enjoyed coming here, until tonight.

The Shmelt Burger Fries with Chipotle Mayo

Even though I couldn't taste the presence of mushrooms, the burger was quality, well cooked beef patty's, and nice tasty cheese and bacon.

The Fries were also good, nice and crispy, and well seasoned.

The atmosphere was comfortable, music playing in the background. I like the new spacious location with plenty more seating.

The service was fast and friendly. Had my order in less than 20 minutes.

The Chicken RoyAl Burger was delicious. Well cooked, crispy, and juicy chicken, complemented with tasty cheese and bacon cooked to perfection, rounded off with the freshness of the lettuce, tomato, and tasty sauce.

The Tater Tots were tasty, well seasoned, crispy on the outside, and went well with the spiciness of the Chipotle Mayo.

Very hot day, but the air-conditioning meant it was very comfortable inside. Free parking outside the restaurant. There is plenty of spacious seating.

The service was fast and friendly. Had my order in less than 15 minutes.

Chicken RoyAl add Bacon and Cheese Fries with...

One of the better chicken and burger places in Perth! I had the sweet, succulent, juicy BBQ wings which were covered in some of the best BBQ sauce I have tasted. The wings also came with Ranch sauce which added some creamy awesomeness and balanced out the taste even more. The wings themselves were perfectly cooked. They were crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside. I ordered half a kilo and the lady at the front who was very friendly, honestly told me how much in terms of quantity that would be "Enough for one person" - which suited me perfectly as the half kilo was the perfect amount for me. My friends got burgers and seemed just as satisfied with their meals. They also really appreciated the swankiness of the premises. The vibe really invites you in and makes you want to stay and get comfortable - which we did! Can't recommend RoyAl's more highly. Looking forward to trying out their other branches...
