As an Italian living in Australia, I’ve learned to lower my expectations when it comes to pizza. I know I’m far from the motherland, and I do my best to adapt, not to mention I’m gluten intolerant, which complicates things further. That said, this was hands down the worst pizza experience I’ve had… and I’ve eaten across three continents.
My pizza arrived cold, clearly a frozen base with toppings thrown on top. I politely mentioned it to the waitress, who took it away; only to return the same pizza, just sliced and microwaved. At that point, I was speechless. I didn’t argue.
On the way out, I asked to speak to the owner and calmly explained the situation. I was told, ‘Why didn’t you tell the waitress?’ I explained that I had. The response? ‘Next time it’ll be better.’ Well, there won’t be a next time.
We were a group of eight Italians, every single pizza arrived burnt, two at a time. Trust me: do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. Definitely not...
Read moreI really hate to write bad reviews but I just can't see the hype with solo. The pizza dough and crust was nice enough, woodfire taste but that's where it ended for me. It was sooooo small we had two pizzas between two people and we weren't full after that. The toppings seemed like quality but it was really lacking. I'm not one for dominos style lump heaps of toppings, but the sausage was so sparce some slices didn't even have one bit of it. It could be cos they were mega busy on this Friday night (was a1 hour 20 wait on pizzas which is fine cos they told us upfront was an hour wait) and maybe the rush meant skimp on toppings but to be honest, I've had better pizza at the Windsor and it's excellent crust with excellent toppings.
I wish I took a picture but after the wait we were soo hungry I didn't even have time to think of pics. Hard no from...
Read moreMost pizzas are with tomato sauce. If you like Bianca (white pizza) you only have one option (Mare e Monti) which I ordered. The dough and quality was great.
I asked for fresh chili as well which I guess I charged for it. The tiramisu was awesome for me, mild coffee and low sugar type creamy tiramisu if you like.
I paid $40 for a pizza, a tiramisu and fresh chili, considering the quality the price was almost reasonable.
The staff were trying their best to provide a reasonable service but to be fair they are a bit inexperienced which was totally fine.
You can bring your own wine. The atmosphere is wooden relaxing theme with nice pictures on wall. You can go with your date or family and enjoy, the noise level was reasonable to be able to chat and hear each other. There are some outdoor tables next...
