I bought a bus of 57 people in for lunch, I did ring prior to coming to let the kitchen know we were on our way. The food came out very quickly and I had no complaints from anyone about it. The complaint I have is from me. Firstly I was surprised to see that the chairs were very close together, pretty much sitting shoulder to shoulder, which was not comfortable, there was plenty of room that they could have added another table. The second thing was that the table was not set, we had to get our cutlery and serviettes from a wooden box on the table. Thirdly and the most important, as her position is one of importance. When we walked in I was greeted with "You were supposed to give us 1 hour notice and you only gave us 10 minutes" I had actually told them I would ring when we were leaving the Nursery to let them know we were on our way, which I did. I was standing looking around to make sure everyone was seated and comfortable and the same lady approached me with 3 plates and handed them to me and said (can you serve these?) and walked off. Yes I did serve them and as I returned to my seat, she approached me with 3 more plates and tried to hand them to me. My exact words to her were "You need to serve these yourself, I am not a waitress and I paid for all these meals." My meal was on the table and getting cold while she expected me to do her job! I'm sorry, I did not spend years studying and costing me $1,000's to be told to do her job for her. I have absolute respect for anyone serving the public no matter what the job. It's tough I have served people when I was much younger and it can be a thankless job. The ladies name was Heidi. Also I had just paid $1500 to the restaurant and the Manager Chris? could not even come over to see if everything was ok. Management 101? look after your customers. Overall, the Cauliflower was not nice, the Chicken was just OK, the seating arrangement was bad, I feel that more could have been done considering the amount of money we spent on a Saturday lunch. As a side issue, I noticed Heidi talking to one of my guests, I went down and asked my guest if everything was OK and she replied with, "The lady (Heidi) asked us to give her a good review." The meals and accommodation were great thank you. The only issue we had was with your manager Kate. On our third night at your hotel I tried to use one of the free drink cards provided during our check in. Kate then asked me where we got them from, which I said was during check in. She then kept asking me and said it could be right as all the cards should have writing on the back, the ones we received did not. Kate then refused to provide me my drink and said I was not entitled to it. Insinuating I'm either a lier or a thief.
Additionally it took 15 minutes to order my meal at the counter. My colleagues meal had been made and before I had finished ordering mine. She was swearing at her employees and making them seem stupid while they were trying their best and did not have adequate training/ were new.
Additionally she advised I could not put food on my room, which is incorrect as I had done it the night before and it is clearly displayed on my check out invoice.
On check out I tried to speak to her advising that I was very disappointed in the quality of service when we have spent over $1000 at the establishment and I had requested we stay here as part of our business trip. Kate was adamant that I had not received the cards lawfully and that she was in the right. I suggested she watch the cctv cameras to clarify, at which point she simply walked away mid conversation stating" she is not here to talk about this".
As a patron who has spent a large amount of money at your establishment, I would expect that at least Kate would try and clarify or rectify the situation. Especially over one drink ticket which someone in a rush may not have written the details on.

Read moreFood was lovely , but that’s about it took ages for the drinks to arrive and it wasn’t at a busy period but the worst part was my friend who we was dining with had a bet slip which he asked to cash out at the till they scanned the slip and said they didn’t have that much in the till to pay out ($190 not sure how they didn’t have that in any of the tills) and asked if he can come back up in 10 minutes whilst she speaks to the manager. He sat back down with us and ate his meal and then returned to collect his winnings. The same staff member said it has already been claimed (which it Definetly hasn’t) he explained to her that it’s impossible as he hasn’t been back up since he last spoke to her she said there’s nothing she can do and to contact TAB. He asked for the manager and she said there’s no manager available he asked another staff member for a manager and they were reluctant to get a manager which is quite concerning. He eventually spoke to a manager who asked the staff member what happened and she denied that she had spoken to my friend ! The manager checked the cameras and then come to our table and gave him his money and said sorry with no explanation to what happened. I really hope the staff didn’t plan on keeping this money themselves but I don’t understand why they were so reluctant to get a manager and no professionalism in the way this was dealt with especially lying to say they never spoke to him when the manager and we both...
