Food was decent, roti and eggs were nice. Coffee average but passable. Atmosphere good but spoilt somewhat by the incredibly rude service. The teenage girl serving today was so sour and cranky, not a great experience at all. She barely spoke, showed no signs of cracking a smile, and was reluctant to help clean the table down / dry the bench seats, instead handing us a towel and suggesting we do it ourselves. I suppose some people are best kept away from customer service roles if they can’t make you feel welcome and valued.
Croissants were both served hot on the outside but the ham and cheese were cold. They were taken back and heated up further. Other meals were good though.
The worst part would have to be the filthy cutlery on the tables out the back. There was food all over many of the knives and forks, which was thankfully pointed out to me by our seven year old son prior to starting to use them.
Won’t be returning and have contacted management via email to...
Read moreI had high hopes for this café, given its aesthetically pleasing setup with stylish cabinets and a nice ambiance. However, the experience quickly fell flat. The café was so crowded, even with just a few people there, that it felt uncomfortably cramped. The food was, a huge letdown. I ordered a bánh mì, expecting something fresh and flavorful, but what I got was a chewy white bread roll with scarps of “filling” that tasted like it had been sitting in a bain-marie for hours. The bread wasn’t crispy, and the overall taste was far from what you’d expect from a classic bánh mì. As for the pear and crumble tart, it had a distinct fridge taste, and the texture was off—definitely felt like it had been sitting around for too long. To top it off, the coffee was bitter, served way too hot, just disappointing. For the exorbitant prices, I was hoping for something far better, but what I got was a frustrating, underwhelming experience. Definitely...
Read moreI can see what they’re trying to do here, but they’re just missing the mark. I do think that it’s a personality issue though and it will suit plenty of other people, it’s just not for me.
My experience was that every member of staff I dealt with (2) wanted to argue with me about petty things, which was a very weird experience.
The place where you order was so cramped and busy that I just ordered something that based on the ingredients listed sounded good but half them were a surprise and not what I had hoped for. I tried to politely tell the owner I didn’t want the remains to take away three times, but he insisted and so I brought them home and put them in the bin.
The garden was lovely and I had an enjoyable time with my lunch companion but I don’t think I’ll be back again. But that’s ok. Not all places suit all people and I’m sure it’s a firm favourite with...
