What a hidden gem this place is . I often shop here as they close late most days, and are close by to me. The meat is really well dressed here - the head butcher really preps the meat in some of the best manner I rarely see. My drop penny moment is the chicken I bought yesterday - dang it was so well prepped and fresh ...after my 13 yo cooked dinner last night it was tender as - in other words - so fresh and good that the meat was virtually impossible to stuff up ( my 13 yo is a good cook btw -proud dad ) . We have been overcharged for meat (above their advertised price) from the Meat Safe on 4 or 5 separate occasions over the past 18 months. Initially, we simply dismissed it as an oversight, but it has now happened too many times to be an accident in our opinion. A short time ago today, my husband was also charged $15 to mince $27 of chuck steak. Unbelievable. Disappointingly I travelled 5 km to arrive 7 minutes before 4 pm on a Sunday and the meat had already been covered and packed away but the staff were still there behind the counter. I asked what time it closed and the man replied officiously 4pm and I said but it is not 4pm and received the officious reply "we open at 7am tomorrow morning sir"...wont be...
