Title: Disappointing Experience Had dinner at Bombora Seafood Wollongong tonight, and it was an absolute letdown. Ordered the flounder fish dish, and while the sides were decent, the fish itself was terrible—dry and completely tasteless. To make matters worse, I found a bug in my meal that resembled a Dermatobia hominis. I informed the staff immediately and requested a refund, but they refused and instead offered a voucher and free dessert. Honestly, why would I want to come back after such an unpleasant experience? It’s truly disappointing to see one of our favourite places for dinner fail to satisfy its patrons. Bombora used to be a fantastic spot with great food. Think twice about spending your hard earned dollar here. Well that wasn’t the response I was expecting!! Firstly I did reference the lack of effort that went into the preparation of the fish to the manager and that I wanted my money back. Which now you are offering me if I come back tomorrow and get it from you. On reflection, a refund on both serves of the flounder should be offered as my husband’s fish was exactly the same. Secondly, no I don’t imagine your staff would deliberately garnish my dinner with a bug, I just wanted an explanation on what it was and to flag the added disappointment to my dinner. Thirdly, I did take the voucher as this was the only sort of compensation offered, and thought maybe I would come back for a cup of coffee! Lastly, now after this way too long explanation of our dinner, we will definitely not be back, even for a cup of coffee! Oh, and if you would like to be in contact with me you can come and pick up the voucher!!!!!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on a cold rainy afternoon. We were seated by the windows with a beautiful view of the Wollongong harbour. We were greeted by a lovely young gentleman that showed us to our table, which we had reserved. After we perused the menu, which had some wonderful, well priced options we ordered from the QR code at our table. A generous entrees of Salt and Pepper Squid arrived with a half lemon as part of a garnish, it was so nice to not have to try and squeeze a sliver of lemon. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay from the bar and our mains arrived not long after we had finished our entree. My husband had the barramundi with coleslaw and chips, I had the barramundi with apple & maple carrots, spinach, feta, cranberries, almonds and balsamic vinegar, again a generous half lemon accompanied the dishes. The barramundi was fresh and moist, the sides were delicious. We finished off with 2 coffees. While we were there we saw so many well portioned dishes being served out, one in particular that caught my eye was the All day Breakfast Pie, which I look forward to trying in the future. This was our first time to Bombora Seafood but it won't be our last!

Absolutely 💯% love this place! I'm writing this cringing knowing that I'm shouting it from the roof top and once you go it'll be your favourite place too! But it'd be rude not to speak up about something so devine, it truly is seafood at its finest the way it should be enjoyed, fresh off the boat and not frozen and because of this Bombora gets quite busy but that's a given anywhere you go when good food is on offer. I recommend if your not a happy go lucky, go with the flow kind of person or you are but have gremlins that think the sky is falling down end of the world is coming at being told there is a wait, to book a table in advance to avoid the dramatic scene they could pose dropping to the ground like Golem raising their arm with their out stretched hand demanding food. The food is ACTUALLY fresh, NOT freshly frozen as some muppets will try and sell you. Is crafted in store the way it should be and the end result is its absolutely too die for good you'll leave here stuffed and bursting at the seams but still wanting to put that home made sweet chilli sauce on something as its just soo good!

My wife & I decided to try this place as the name attracted us to it immediately (SEAFOOD)!!!!! What an absolute disgrace! If you’re wanting seafood please DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! We ordered the hot/cold seafood platter for 2 at $155 which we thought was a reasonable price. When a restaurant asks you to pay before you receive your meals, from now on this will definitely be an alert to me in the future! As the food was given to us the first thing I noticed was how small the oysters were. They would have been the size of a 10 cent coin within the shell. The barramundi piece half the size of an apple iPhone. The 4 scallops in shell were cold and undercooked, 8 x medium cold prawns were mushy and shells were soft not fresh at all. The bugs would have had to have been the smallest most undersized I have ever seen, absolutely disgraceful rubbish. The lobster was tasteless and seemed like it was straight out of a frozen food box. The sauce over the top of the hot seafood was disgusting and almost made me sick. The waitress came over and asked how it was and I mentioned that it was the most disgusting overpriced seafood platter I have ever eaten in my life and that I’m horrified. She nodded her head as I continued telling her how bad it was as if she was agreeing with me. As I finished stating my horrific experience she then asked if we would like a house wine on them! We didn’t touch the oysters or king prawns in the sauce and we actually only ate what we did as we were so hungry after a day of swimming. I also mentioned to the waitress that the best part of the dish were the chips even though they were only just warm enough to eat. Our overall experience there was a 0/10 and we both highly recommend eating elsewhere unless you want the same...

was here with my partner back in 2022,we were trying out the restaurant with the view of having an anniversary there upon entering the restaurant the owner was extremely rude and when we spoke to the male employee he contradicted and dismissed our sensible complaint throughout, what was supposed to be a lovely time out for a quite lunch turned out to be very unpleasant and we were both left very dismayed. My partner who is an international lawyer and lecturer pulled up the staff Member and informed him that serving food that is not well prepared is illegal and they could be liable if a customer files a complaint to the department of health.

we had to ensure our meal was well cooked before proceeding to consuming it.

when we asked the male staff member why her behaviour/ attitude was so vile to the point where a couple of patrons walked out of the restaurant when they were served cold seafood food that hadn't been cooked properly i.e.: raw seafood he Jumped to her defence by saying, I quote: she is not in a good mood!.... we have called on our colleagues to boycott this restaurant and needless to say we have both never returned to this so called restaurant and NEVER will again. To everyone reading this review please consider for your own health's sake do not go to Bombora.

I hope this review gives all potential customers a picture of how disgraceful this restaurant is. Veronica Fernandez's review speaks volumes and the response she got from the owner is extremely unprofessional and rude, NOT...
