Never again! We ordered and waited 40 minutes for 2 x bacon & egg rolls that were mistakenly given to another customer and taken outside the cafe. The customer realised they took the wrong order while also waiting for the rest of their food and returned the 2 x bacon & egg rolls to the cafe after 10+ minutes of holding (I witnessed while waiting). The cafe immediately sent the same rolls back out to me and my partner. We took a bite out of each of the rolls to find they were cold and not fresh from the kitchen.
I came back with one in hand to complain saying it was cold and I suspected they were in someoneās possession prior. I got a response saying āsorry I only thought it was out for a minuteā. They would only refund the money for the roll I was carrying, I had no interest in eating the other roll so had to go and grab the roll from my partner to return and receive a refund.
I donāt believe this is acceptable nor complies with food safety standards, who knows if they touched the food. Iām hopeful it was a minor slip up with the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe coffee was incredibly weak. Barely even tasted like coffee. Just warm milk. The service was very poor. The workers werenāt welcoming or friendly at all.
Edit: In response to the owner claiming I ordered a half strength coffee: thatās absolutely false. I ordered a large skim latte and my partner ordered a small cappuccino. Both were incredibly weak. I asked the barista how many shots of coffee were in my large coffee and she said 2. Maybe she lied to you to cover up the fact sheās not a great barista. I drink coffee every day and have visited countless cafes in Wollongong. This was by far the worst coffee Iāve had in Wollongong. The barista was rude and didnāt offer an apology or offer to make a new coffee. The server was equally nonchalant and didnāt care. Instead of making up lies, saying I ordered half strength, maybe take some ownership of your unprofessional staff and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter having the best experience upstairs at The Anchorage restaurant for lunch we decided to head downstairs to Basin Cafe for a coffee. We were met with a very rude staff member. I first asked what size cups of coffee they had as i couldn't see them amongst all the clutter on the counter top. She responded with abruptly pointing her fingers at the cups. Sorry for even asking the question. She had to go out of her way to point her finger. Then my wife asked for another two biscuits after we ordered. Her response " what? You want another one?" Yes.we actually want two. Sorry for asking you to do your job again. Then she plonks the coffee on the counter and turns her head and mumbles here you go. Worst 5 minute cafe experience ever. Wont be back on that behaviour alone. This took place on the 25/11/22...
