NORTH BAR — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

I was here for NYE for few drinks, the place itself is nice however not prepared for NYE, seating was limited , not many tables. Staff was not friendly and slow at serving , no smile, no hello , did not create welcoming atmosphere, below average service to be honest . DJ was horrible , played music very inappropriate to such an evening , he cleared the dance floor quickly playing “house” music. No one was picking up glasses , and no one cleaned table we sat at for the entire time ( 2 hours). There was strange mix of people, considering it is a Novotel hotel and the bar itself is nice , it was lacking...

Every time I have been here there is always a whole lot of staff (who do a lot of talking amongst themselves) and doing very little work. This level of bar should have table service. Lining up like a pub or night club really takes off the shine. You’d have patrons spending a whole lot more money if you had table service. You certainly have enough staff for it. The wine selection aways has plenty out of stock. And cocktails aren’t made after a certain hour even though the bar itself isn’t open overly late. The upgrade seems to be the exact opposite. So much potential but it’s really fallen short....

We waited an hour and a half for a cocktail. After the first half hour we asked a waiter if they'd forgotten our order, which they had and apologised for. Rather than push our order to the front of the queue, they told us we'd have to wait for the other 20 cocktails that had stacked up in that time, to be made first.
