Simple, excellent food. The location, views and service were notable as well. When ordering wine we were taken to the small wine cellar and given recommendations. I had the lamb and my wife had the bratwurst... It's a day later and we're still bringing up how good it is. The location is down the hill past shopping and then down a flight of stairs so easy to miss the menu card. If you're visiting Durstein for the day and need to make your way to Krems it's just a few minute walk down to the bus stop to get to Krems and the train station. We were hurrying to catch the next bus... I only wish we had waited an extra hour to have some more drinks and dessert and...

Beautiful terrace outside, even the charcoal smell of the bbq is nice.

Food was mediocre (chicken) or bad (grilled peppers with massive feta-couscous filling?), salad bar was rather sad. Best part of the meal were the fries. Service... not sure what to say. Waitress was not having her day, we saw our food waiting for several minutes to be served and getting cold. Awesome place to be. We did have a birthday party there and the location was awesome. A little drawback: if you have small children, you have to be aware of the pond there, but the area is good to oversee. The food was excellent, they have a grill station there. The meat was on point and side dishes perfectly matched. Very friendly and well trained staff. Go there and have an relaxing time with a great view on the danube. Enjoy also the close ancient city center...
