Gasthaus Little Saigon Linz — Restaurant in Linz

The banh xeo was tasty, but the rest we ordered was a huge disappointment.

The spring rolls were probably the worst I ever had in my life. I highly doubt that they are homemade. The beef in the Pho was of very poor quality and already slightly sour. The lettuce and herbs were not washed. We could taste sand. Even though that fine rice noodles are promised on the menu, the dish was served with flat rice noodles (assumably because our other dish was served with such ones and therefore it was less work to prepare). The jasmine tea was extremely bitter. We got way too many leafs (a mix containing mostly green tea) and they were simply put into the tea pot. Therefore we couldn't even take them out properly.

The waiter, who turned out to be also the cook, was in any case super polite and cute in a way, as he did his very best to be a good host. Therefore, it feels awkward to leave a negative review, but I think that a warning for any future customers is appropriate...

Visited on a Sunday evening. Very few people around (cuz it's Linz, Austria) and so, amazing atmosphere. Authentic Vietnamese food. Noodles with veggies and tofu was top-class. The owner/waiter was just awesome. He was super hospitable and welcoming. Cash only, but there's a ATM just around the corner. Affordable food. Three of us spent 29 € (without drinks).

Absolute Empfehlung & Geheimtipp!

Authentisches Geschmackserlebnis im Little Saigon wie ich es nur aus dem Vietnam selber kenne - Gastfreundschaft wurde hier groß geschrieben.

Mit frischen Kräutern und viel Liebe bereitete uns der Inhaber u. a. typisch vietnamesische Sommerrollen, Reisnudeln mit Schweinebauch und ein landestypisches "Palatschinke" zu. Wir waren wirklich begeistert.

Bitte nicht von der dunklen Einrichtung abschrecken lassen: Die Speisen sind geschmacklich wirklich ein absolutes Highlight und preislich total in Ordnung.

Der zuvorkommende & freundliche Inhaber war sehr bemüht. Er verzichtete am Schluss sogar auf das Trinkgeld und gab uns noch eine kleine Portion gratis mit auf den Heimweg - so etwas liebes habe ich noch nie erlebt. :-)

Ich werde das Little Saigon jedenfalls wieder besuchen!! Für mich der beste...
