Das O's – Weinbistro von Martin Kammlander | Taste in Place — Restaurant in Mondsee

I had one of the best meals I’ve had in years here - just amazing. Do make a reservation ahead of time - there is no menu, but the hostess and chef are spectacularly friendly, speak excellent English, and will do everything they can to make sure you have a wonderful evening. There are usually several dishes on offer (we had grilled octopus with satay sauce, for example, and a luxurious seafood bisque, paired with outstanding Austrian wines), plus an incredible array of thoughtfully chosen wines available, by the glass or by the bottle - put yourself in their capable hands and enjoy the ride. Best of all, prices are reasonable given the quality and ambience - I can’t recommend this place highly...

Incredible last minute find (but perhaps make a reservation if you can!). Martin is charm and wit and kindness and his food is clearly reflective of years of work and thoughtfulness. He was host, server, and cook(!). Excellent 1) service 2) food and 3) value. Bread with beet hummus and herbed butter, shrimp "cocktail" (avocado and other vegetables), stuffed flores de calabaza (with cured fish) eggplant and flavor bomb tomatoes, mullet and mushroom dish, apricot French toast-like dessert (but better). Recht kleines Restaurant. Aufmerksam - aber für typische Restaurant Verhältnisse dann doch eher im Bistro Style Häppchenartig. Die Weinauswahl ist gut und kann sich sehen lassen. Auf den Service muss man allerdings dann doch hin und wieder recht lange warten. Es scheint ne Menge Stammgäste zu geben die er mit Priorität behandelt werden. Auch wenn ich das aus reiner Geschäftlich durchaus verstehen kann würde ich mir doch wünschen dass Gäste die ihren Urlaub dort verbringen ebenbürtig behandelt werden da sie ja schließlich auch zahlen. Das Ambiente hat uns gefallen denn es ist fast schon ein wenig heimisch und gemütlich in dem kleinen Raummit den recht engen aneinander stehenden Tischen –...
