Konditorei - Cafe Frauenschuh — Restaurant in Mondsee

If I could give 0 stars I would. We were told by our tour to check this place out but immediately realized we were not welcome. We started to order one black coffee at the counter, then requested a menu to order our other coffees. We were then rudely told that each table had a menu on it. The employee was already aware we were planning to take the coffees to go so we had not even looked at any of the tables to get a menu. As I turned to get one I heard him say loudly “I know you all are used to Starbucks.” Then began speaking in German about us to his coworkers. Upon hearing this, my family walked out of the restaurant. It’s not clear if they don’t like any foreigners or if they just don’t like Americans since others in our tour were sitting down when we arrived. Rude waiters. Slow service. Seems like they don’t even want us here. I don’t know if it’s because we re English and foreigners. Incorrect food bought out. And when we summoned the waitress, the first one ignored us and then the second one when about her business of wiping down tables before eventually coming over to us. Had to wait even longer for food to come out, and then when it did it was very underwhelming, very basic and not very exciting at all for the cost. Which we feel was fairly expensive. All in all it was naff service and naff food. Not impressed at all. We reluctantly paid our bill, but we didn’t tip. I suggest you avoid this place...

The place is really cute and I was happily treated to a warm tea, quickly, while waiting for my tour group. The barista didn't know what a London Fog was but i explained it to her and she gladly made me a delicious one! Friendly enough people.

The issue was that i bought a little treat to enjoy later. It was hard chocolate coated. I bit into it and it tasted off. While trying to figure out why, some of the chocolate shell came off i saw why it tasted odd. I guess these don't sell very well because it was moldy inside.

This is such a disappointment as the tea was quite good and this treat wasn't very cheap....
