We had mixed feelings about our visit to Il Lago. The food was tasty overall, but the pasta was unfortunately overcooked – nowhere near al dente. That might be because we just returned from a two-week holiday in Italy and our expectations were high, especially in an Italian restaurant like this.

We were seated outside, which was understandable since we didn’t have a reservation. However, being surrounded by smokers was really unpleasant, especially as we were there with two small children. If you’re visiting with kids, we recommend asking for a table indoors.

That said, the service was absolutely outstanding – one of the best we’ve experienced in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and professional.

We are Americans that traveled in late at night and were so hungry when we got to our hotel. We walked around in the rain and everything was closed so we called il Lago and even though they were closing as well, they were very kind and still offered to bring us pizza. When they arrived (the owner herself) was very kind and we didn’t have the right currency and she helped us anyways. She was a godsend! Not to mention the pizza was the best pizza we have ever tasted! Really very incredible quality for pizza. We could not recommend a better local pizzeria!...
