The food is okay, but could be better. My friend ordered the Wiener schnitzel and got a potato as a side dish. You read that right - a single potato. He paid 25€ for that, which is insane if you ask me. They also do not accept cards which is unbelievable in 2024.
The restaurant had not been cleaned, I assume, in weeks when we ate there. There was dust everywhere and the floor needed a good mopping.
The worst thing about our meal there, however, is the decor. I'll admit this is very subjective, but the restaurant is full of paintings of male and female genitalia. Now, I'm no prude and I understand that art is subjective, but all the paintings of giant penises and vaginas are incredibly distasteful (to say the least), and it's definitely not a place I'd ever visit anymore simply because I don't like looking at male sexual organs as I eat. All of the paintings are clearly trying to go for "provocative art", when they're not even that good in reality and all they really accomplish is...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at Am Nordpol 3, the entire team was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I was craving authentic Austrian cuisine, and they were very attentive in recommending classic dishes.
Our food arrived quickly, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt, and every bite was genuinely delicious. They also suggested the ideal local beer to pair with our meal. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size.
I loved it so much that, despite only being in Vienna for four days, I returned with a colleague so they could experience it too. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great traditional fare and...
Read moreBig disappointment. I've been looking forward going there for a long time. We ordered a few dishes, started and mains, and it was all either mediocre or plain bad. The blunzen was way too salty and the shell was dry. It smelled bad, probably old. I've been eating this dish in a variety of restaurant in Vienna and have a good base for comparison. The salad was okish, nothing beyond that. Leberknödl soup again couldn't compete with the usual Austrian standards. Only good thing was the beer. They also have A racist menu with A dish name that insults Roma and Sinti. A real waste of money...
