Palais Freiluft — Restaurant in Vienna

I recently visited Palais Freiluft Winter Edition with high hopes, enticed by the promises of a nice atmosphere and intriguing art displays. While the ambiance and artistic elements lived up to expectations, I must express my profound disappointment with the overall experience. One notable let-down was the shockingly exorbitant prices, especially given the mediocre quality of the food. I couldn't help but feel swindled as I forked over a small fortune for what amounted to sub-par culinary creations. The portions were underwhelming, and the flavours failed to justify the steep cost.

The presence of a disreputable cheese seller with stand selling "cheap" Dutch cheese for extortionate prices (over 200 Euros per kilo). Equally disheartening was the staff's lack of friendliness. They seemed to expect tips (despite no service) and were reluctant to hand back deposits on cups,...

Beautiful place but sadly really let down by the staff and management. I went a few days ago with a friend, who is a person of colour. They were the only person who had their bag checked. This was done in an incredibly rude and humiliating manner where mundane items were questioned and criticised. Other guests, myself included, who were white and had bigger bags were not asked to do the same. Really sad to see this type of prejudice and hostility in such a classy building. It appears that not only the Palais itself is from the 18th century but also the mindset of bouncers, staff...

Prinzipiell ein schöner Ort, aber leider schlechtes Management und unmöglicher Türsteher inklusive Taschenkontrolle wie in einem Nachtclub. Ein angebissenes Weckerl, das ich in der Handtasche hatte, hätte ich entweder vor dem Eingang essen oder wegschmeißen (!) müssen! Der (dunkelhäutige) Freund, mit dem ich dort war, wurde bis auf den Inhalt seiner Gelbörse durchsucht und gefragt, ob er „Tabletten dabei habe“?! Was wollte man damit ausdrücken? Alles in allem ein entwürdigendes und demütigendes Verhalten, das ich in dieser Form noch nie erlebt habe! Weder ich noch meine Freunde werden jemals wieder einen Fuß in dieses Etablissement setzen! Es gibt genügend andere Lokalitäten in Wien, die unser Geld sicher gerne...
