Amananth's Place — Restaurant in Vienna

I came as a tourist, it was not a particularly busy night as it was an extra opening day to celebrate 20 years of the bar in operation.

Immediately I was welcomed by the kind bartender, and enjoyed a few beers at this place until closing time. The regular patrons were friendly. We made good conversation.

Note that the venue is cash only for small transactions, but to help an independent venue, this is certainly not a lot to ask, and there is an ATM within 5 minutes walk that doesn’t charge heavy transactional fees if your card is in a foreign currency like mine. So bring cash!

The music was brilliant - ranging from Oomph, Eisbrecher etc., to AC/DC, the Clash - something to suit the tastes of anyone who likes rock and metal, and maybe you might discover some German language metal if you don’t know it already!

Beer was very reasonably priced, fresh and well chilled, and the building was nicely decorated and very easy to reach. An evening well spent in Vienna! I recommend this place to all metal heads, and next time I come to Vienna, I will be sure to bring my...

The owner advertised the basement as a place where u can rent and organize separate parties if you like. After having organized months in advance he did not have it open at the promised time and he had a rude woman down there who refused to let us play our music saying it won't work and just played depressing music for the most part.
