We got served RAW chicken and were told "its supposed to be like that, its medium" ๐คฏ
We were a group of 4, giong to this place after a long day of walking and travelling because we got tips about this place and wanted to eat Israelian food, and we decided to order a grill plate with some Falafels... when we received our food, we quickly noticed that the chicken was still raw inside (not just a little bit, but it was still mostly red and blood filled) so we tried to call over the waiter to complain.. witch we did in a polite way... and his response was immediately "Noo, It's medium rare, it's supposed to be like that, " and we got shocked by that response... and we had to tell him how dangerous and bad raw chicken is (e.x, Salmonella & food poisoning) and almost had to be strict before he then said they would give us a new plate with grilled chicken spears... and after 20 minutes, they came out with the new chicken, and he placed the new chicken on the plate on top of the raw chicken we received earlier... Facepalm and the new batch were ridiculously over salted and almost burned aka. not edible even tho we were starving from an entire day without food๐ข๐ We also noticed that the chef(s) were sitting around not doing much while we waited for our food and there were new customers coming inn waiting for their food.. and they even charged us full price for it (no additional costs for the new chicken)..
Other than that, the rest of the food was mid/okay, the hummus was not great but okay, and the Falafels were cold.
The menu has an okay amount of items to choose from, a mix between Kebabs, grill spears, chips, soggy sticki-rice and other Asian...
ย ย ย Read moreCame to have lunch with a colleague, the server gave us the English menu and I ordered the breaded chicken steak from the daily lunch menu and even pointed at the dish on the menu because I noticed his English wasn't very good. When our dishes arrived I discovered that even though I pointed at the dish in the menu the waiter ordered me a beef steak. I told him I ordered the chicken steak and he was like "yea yea, chicken". I understood that he wasn't going to understand me so I ate it anyways, since I was hungry and didn't want the food to go to waste. The steak was way overcooked but since I knew the waiter wasn't going to understand me no matter what I do, I just ate it anyways. Then the restaurant owner came in, who also speaks my native language (Hebrew) and I explained to him all that had happened. His only response was, "so why did you eat it?" and I told him that since the waiter didn't understand me, I was hungry and didn't want the food to go to waste I ate it. He just nodded, said "yea he doesn't speak English" and went away. I ended up paying twice than what I had...

A Taste of Israel in the Heart of Vienna!
Looking for delicious kosher food with an Israeli twist? โBahur Tovโ is the place to be! Located on Taborstraรe, right across from the Chabad House, it offers an authentic and flavorful experience just a 15-minute walk from District 1. If youโre not in the mood to walk, Tram #2 stops right in front of the restaurant.
Food: The menu is incredibly diverse, featuring classic Israeli dishes with a modern twist. One of the highlights is the meat platter, offering a variety of skewers perfect for sharing with family or friends.
We also tried the schnitzel, which was a bit too oily for my taste, but the salads at the start of the meal were an absolute mustโfresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off.
Ambiance and Pricing: The restaurant isnโt the most stylish, but it makes up for it with tasty food and a welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for families or groups of friends. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions.
Summary: โBahur Tovโ is a must-visit for kosher dining in Vienna. Great location, tasty food, and an authentic Israeli vibe make it a standout spot. Overall, a fantastic experienceโIโd rate it 4.5 stars!
