I recently had the pleasure of visiting Habakuk during my trip to Vienna, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a vibrant atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

Came for the Apfelstrudel, stayed for the beers. We were looking for a place that served Apfelstrudel, saw the review that praised this place for this dessert and decided to come here. Once we arrived, the waiter informed us that that review was actually meant for another place that has the same name, from Salzburg, and that they did not serve any kind of dessert. Leicht verkatert mache ich mich auf die Suche nach der Etymologie vom Habakuk: Dieser ist zunächst ein jüdischer Prophet - seinen Kollegen Ezekiel kenne ich noch gut aus Pulp Fiction. Doch dieser Habakuk, der von gestern Nacht, scheint doch eher Anleihe an Arminio Rothstein zu nehmen, besser bekannt als Fernsehclown Habakuk, so einer Art Influencer meiner Kindheit. Und jetzt kommt's mir! Ebenjener hat auch den bösen Zauberer Tintifax erfunden, und dieser ist mir wahrlich mehrmals gestern Nacht im Habakuk erschienen! Nach ein, zwei, oder doch zwölf "Mexikanern" - einer definitiv nicht nachahmenswerten Mixtur aus Tabasco, Tequila, Zitrone und weiteren feinsten Ingredienzen - tritt der Geist aus der Flasche, und diese von außen unscheinbare Tschummsn im Niemandsland zwischen hippem Mariahilf und erdigem Margareten wird zum Madison Square Garden von Wien. We could be heroes, just for one day! Gestern waren wir's im Habakuk mit vielen anderen, ebenso freundlichen wie restlos illuminierten Kollegen -- neuen Freunden fürs Leben. Während mich hier also die Autokorrektur an meinen weiterhin prekären gesundheitlichen wie kognitiven Zustand erinnert, wird schon an der nächsten Nacht im Habakuk geplant.
