Don Camillo — Restaurant in Vienna

I had a horrible experience here last night. The manager overcharged my friend and I by a lot. When I disputed it, he told me it was because I ordered a pizza and changed my mind about the pizza and he couldn’t delete the original order from the system so he charged me extra.

It made no sense. He also made up different drink prices to what was on the menu. He gave us no receipt. When we disputed the prices, he mocked my voice and pretended not the speak english. It was so ugly and upsetting.

He thought because me and my friend were speaking english he could take advantage. In the end he gave me €20 back but he should have comped the entire meal for the absolute stress, theft and tension that this caused. This was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in my life.

Avoid this place. It isn’t even authentic Italian.

Update: we did not consume three pizzas. We were two people. We ordered two and immediately after I asked to change my pizza from a diavalo to a margarita (€9.90 from €12.90). He said this was fine. We paid and had even tipped but before we left we realized the price was too high for what we consumed. We questioned the bill, he sneakily charged me for the diavalo because he “can’t delete it from the system”. They offer negronis and we asked if it’s possible to make them a spritz. He decided to invent a price for this as we were paying which kept getting higher the more he ripped off us off. (First it was €8.50. Oh no now it’s €9.20). Nothing corresponded to prices on the menu.

Mr Yildiz, if this is how you try to cheat customers, I hate to think how you treat your own staff and people...

After five years, we returned to this authentic hidden gem in Vienna’s 6th district – and we’re so glad we did! The food was just as delicious as we remembered. Everything is freshly prepared, full of flavor, and made with care, just like you’d expect from a true Italian trattoria.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and we received great recommendations for our meal. A special thanks to Şerif for the wonderful hospitality – his passion for good food and service truly shines through.

In short: if you’re looking for a cozy, authentic Italian dining experience in Vienna, this place is an absolute must-visit. We certainly won’t wait another five years...

Tourist Atraction!! If you want to pay for tap water come quick to this place ! 😂 Food was ok and that's about it. The beginning of the tourist scam story is they charged tap water. The First and Only restaurant in Vienna that charges water from the tap! They also charge a mandatory 10% tip which is at least illegal as far as I know. After we protest about the "mandatory" tip they gave us back the tip money. We always give at least 5%-10% depending on the service but you cannot force us to do so. So to get serious it's outrageous to try scam families with children and a tourist to get 5€ more on your bill in 2024. But... Come if you like to pay for your tap water and break...
