China-Restaurant Yang — Restaurant in Vienna

This Chinese restaurant is so beautifully decorated that I’m afraid they forget to put the same amount of care into their kitchen. They left the bao in the steamer so long that the casing fell apart them moment it was picked up. The coconut breaded pork and ants on a log were just not that great of food. It fills you up but not the quality you hope for in going out to a restaurant. The dessert was actually horrible. We got chestnut dumpling in chocolate sauce and was kinda shocked by how gross it was. I expected it to be sweet being a dessert but it was a savory deep fried dumpling. Could not taste the chestnut, just the casing. The chocolate sauce is what propelled the dish from disappointing to actually disgusting. It tasted like it had either gone bad or they had used a liqueur as the only sweetener. The service was friendly and prompt though. Menü Preis/Leistungsverhältnis unter jeder Kritik. Ente € 11,50 - Foto anbei. In einem Mini-Behältnis, mit ein paar kleinen Streifchen des Fleisches. Vorspeise Frühlingsrolle ist ok. Hummerkrabben für 21 Euro, größere Portion, allerdings haben wir da schon Besseres bekommen, zu günstigerem Preis, auch hier in 1190 Wien. Die gebackene Leber für 7,00 ist eine Vorspeise und für unser Gefühl zu teuer angesetzt, zumal im Backteig, und letztlich im gleichen Behältnis wie das Mittagsmenü.

Auf Nachfrage kam: Preise sind so in 1190 Wien. (ich wohne schon länger hier, und kenne auch die Preise in 1130 Wien, oder anderen gehobenen Bezirken, wo ich gerne regelmäßig Restaurants teste! Hier wird der Kunde eindeutig nicht fair und gerecht behandelt!)

Fazit: als Restaurant-Testerin (hobbymäßig) kann ich sagen, dass dieser Chinese im Vergleich zu hochpreisig ist. Das Lokal ist altmodisch/traditionell eingerichtet, wobei hier schon Abnützungserscheinungen an den Sesseln zu sehen sind, die Bezüge sind nicht mehr schön. 2 Mitarbeiterinnen (Kellnerinnen), laufen herum, ... für den Aufwand hätte 1 Dame völlig ausgereicht. Über den Tisch ziehen lassen, aufgrund von Aussagen, wie: "wir sind hier im 19. Bezirk, oder der Annahme, es wäre "nobler", darf man hier das Ego nicht wirken lassen. Wer ein Gespür hat, oder gerne gesamt wertschätzend und fair behandelt werden will, sieht sich einfach weiter um, ... da gibt es viel Besseres,...

I have no idea why this place has good reviews. The used ingredients are cheap, the red whine was either diluted with soda or had gone bad, which I had never even heard of before! Either way it was undrinkable. We tried to complain three times, nobody was interested AT ALL! I guess it still gets 2 stars because the portions are big and it's open when other places in that area are closed, so if you don't care about anything...
