Gelati da Salvo — Restaurant in Vienna

I find it difficult to believe that in Vienna, in a frequent place, where top quality ingredients (probably one of the best water & milk worldwide) are available, such a medium quality, oversimplified sugar&ice kinda product is offered. I'm sorry, but this is a disrespect to the ice cream origins as well as to the local community. Yes, I get the difference between gelato vs ice cream, but still, this tasted like an average ice cream you would expect in Texas suburb (no offense). Standard local (budget!!!) Billa/Spar icecreams...

with this ice I grew up. come here since 40+ years. was named something like Batistel (?) before. still one of the best in town. yes, these are real fresh big blueberries. not the fake ones out of the box you get everywhere else ;)) Definitly the best stracciatella, malaga and coffee ice in town. But all the fruit types are also great. Unfourtunitly too famous lately. Even saturday evening you have to wait in line...

Excellent Italian ice cream. The haselnut ice cream is outstanding in taste and creaminess. Lemon and strawberry were great as well. The chocolate could be a bit more rich in flavours. Friendly service and generous portions. Still very well priced, compared to other places. It looks like this will become my new favourite place in Döbling. I will be...
