The server was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, we walked in and got a big smile and handshake that was so genuine, the amazing service continued throughout the night and I could write so many things about how lovely he was but food makes the restaurant and this food did not disappoint. My girlfriend and I shared three dishes and were full after them and we both enjoyed all three, definitely would recommend and we’ve been to some lovey Ethiopian restaurants. Only thing to be careful of is booking the Doro wot in advance, we were lucky as some had been prepared that day so we were able to have it but not worth risking not having the lovely doro wot so order in advance!

Very casual place, I think they could put more effort into creating ambiance. The server was swearing grey sweatpants …I’m not sure if that’s usual here but where I’m from it would indicate low effort/ unprofessional. The food was really very tasty but unfortunately the injera was cold when served, probably due to being served on a cold metal platter. I didn’t think the portions were very plentiful compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to. We did really enjoy it and eat every bit but it would have been a lot better hotter. No ice bucket was brought with the wine so that was unfortunately too warm towards the end of the meal.

This is one of my favourite restaurants (very few) in Vienna, where I go very often. I love their food. I am never disappointed with their food quality and its amount. Lalibela platte is the recommended one, because you get all the dishes together in small amount. And their injera is absolute delicious. You can have as much as you want. Apart from the food, the people are so nice, so polite, you will always feel that they are your own people. Since it is a very popular place, I strongly recommend to reserve table every time you go there. I strongly recommend this place.

A visit to this place feels like a trip in itself. As someone who’s no stranger to Ethiopian cuisine—and a fan at that—I was impressed by the atmosphere, which is adorned with beautiful Ethiopian art. The service is warm, with the friendly staff member greeting you with a constant smile and a handshake. The food is excellent. Having lived near Ethiopian communities in the States, I can confidently say the kitfo here is on another level. It’s not just the meat; the injera bread elevates the entire dish. I never thought I’d care so much about the texture and flavor of the bread, but it truly adds to the meal. I wanted to try the doulet and dorot wot, but these require advance orders due to their lengthy preparation time. It’s also on the pricier side, with meals easily reaching 15 euros or more, making it more of a special treat than a regular outing for most. Cash only, though, so be prepared.

As for the "trip" I mentioned? Well, when you step inside, you’re greeted by a distinct smoky scent. Later that night, I had a vivid, lucid dream. I’m not claiming any direct link, but it certainly added to the experience. Good food, no complaints—just an...

I was so happy that a local recommended this place to us. My step mother is Ethiopian and so I get home made Ethiopian food when I go home and growing up in Washingtob D.C., fantastic Ethiopian food is everywhere, and this place was like coming home. The food is fantastic and when you order the combination platter you get a lot of different vegetable side dishes which is rare to see when you have been traveling eastern/central europe for 3 months.

The injara, tibs, and wot were all delicious. The vegetable sides of potato, cabage, green beans, spicy lentils were so scumptious. Not to mention the man who ran the restaurant might be the nicest man in all of Europe. His smile brighten up your day. He also plays great 80s/90s music.

TIPS: Not a bad idea to make reservations as the place only has 10 or so tables, it is always busy, and please note it is CASH ONLY. Also if you love Doro wot, spicy stewed Ethiopian chicken, you have to call the day before to have it prepared, not something I have ever had to do before at an Ethiopian restaurant but at least you know it was fresh.

Do not miss this...
