GRANDE - Die Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Vienna

My girlfriend and I loved this lounge/bar! We were in town for 6 days and got a chance to visit GRANDE twice! Now I should mention that I live in Orange County, CA and I can only trust a handful of places to make a proper Manhattan and Old Fashioned; now I have one more place in Vienna! They have a good variety of imported and European spirits; this was the only place I could find a Rye Whiskey out there. They have a large list of house cocktails (which include some twists on some of the classics). Rest assured that no matter what you order the mixologists at GRANDE will take their time to ensure your cocktail is of a fantastic quality. Feel at ease ordering because whatever they make will come out spectacular.

The service was outstanding, in particular Sebastian was both cordial and really knew how to build his drinks. We went on Wednesday night after dinner and were the only ones in GRANDE for almost an hour and from that experience Sebastian remembered us 2 days later on a busy Friday night when every seat was packed! He asked us how the next day was and how the drinks were both nights we visited. When we go back to GRANDE we ill be asking for him. Our waiter this evening was very attentive and nice.. the nachos were ok (maybe serve the 3 sauces apart in sauciers rather than on top). We had a couple of Cocktails (pornstar Martini, El presidente, Royal rum sour, Manhattan, negroni, aperol sour, Margarita, amaretto sour, Espresso martini) we had 2 amaretto sour, the First one was ok, but the second one was way too sour.. actually pretty much every Cocktail we had except the first amaretto sour and the aperol sour were quite unbalanced (either too sour, too bitter or too sweet - if you have a pornstar martini thats too bitter, but also too sour & „I kid you not“ too Sweet at the same time, something is wrong) The Espresso Martini was ok, although a bit too watered down for my Taste. The atmosphere was Great, but The Latino/reggaeton doesn’t really fit (i feel like jazz would fit better) definitely our waiter was great.. always brought us a fresh bottle of water & Popcorn & generally was super attentive. Overall I “feel like“ it’s more focused on punching out quick cocktails without much thought - but I’m not surprised.. it’s quite a big place (estimated 80+ seats and only 2 bartenders) To be more specific: it reminds me of a student cocktailbar in my home town, although the cocktails there...

Cool cocktail bar with nice deco, service and ambience. We went there on a Friday night and although it was busy we got a couple of seats by the bar and soon after we got a table. Cocktails were good, the menu is quite extensive and I'm sure you'll find cocktails for every taste. The only problem with this bar is the strong smoking smell, as the main bar belongs to the smoking section. The non smoking section is a small room at the back with few tables which is separated form the smoking area only by a glass door that people tend to leave open. If you are a smoker, I'm sure you'll love the place, but I'd you can't stand the cigarette smell...
