My partner is a strict vegetarian and has been for 13 years. He specifically ordered a vegetarian dish, which was repeated twice. Unfortunately, the waitress served him the wrong vegetarian dish, which had meat in it. Halfway through the meal, he noticed that the meat tasted strange. After a long discussion, the waitress changed the dish.
Finally at the cashier, the person in charge asked about the dining experience. We told them what happened and they were discussing it. The restaurant did not want to offer any compensation - "you pay what you order"... They only waived the rice and made my partner pay for the whole dish. The dinner was quite expensive. We paid about $20-30 per person, not including dessert. We felt that this was not enough to compensate us for the emotional impact and interruption of our meal.
We wish they would respect the dietary restrictions of their customers more... (imagine if it was allergies or something else...)
