Jinco 沧浪亭 — Restaurant in Vienna

My partner is a strict vegetarian and has been for 13 years. He specifically ordered a vegetarian dish, which was repeated twice. Unfortunately, the waitress served him the wrong vegetarian dish, which had meat in it. Halfway through the meal, he noticed that the meat tasted strange. After a long discussion, the waitress changed the dish.

Finally at the cashier, the person in charge asked about the dining experience. We told them what happened and they were discussing it. The restaurant did not want to offer any compensation - "you pay what you order"... They only waived the rice and made my partner pay for the whole dish. The dinner was quite expensive. We paid about $20-30 per person, not including dessert. We felt that this was not enough to compensate us for the emotional impact and interruption of our meal.

We wish they would respect the dietary restrictions of their customers more... (imagine if it was allergies or something else...)

One of the best Chinese Shanghainese Restaurants in Vienna near U4 Kettenbuckegasse.

The lady boss is originally from Shanghai and she is dedicated ,kind and knowledgeable about her original roots and Shanghai taste.

The food is delicious and the owner and her team use the heart to make each dish and you can feel it through the taste, presentation and ambience!

Highly recommended for their Kao Fu 烤麸 ,Fried Softshell crabs 🦀 and Sheng Jian Bao/ Man Tou 生煎包/馒头 。

We had a really tasty meal. My friend had fried spring roll with vegetables and egg fried rice. I had the Xiao Long Bao and the beef noodles soup. All the food was extremely tasty and definitely an experience worth having. We had the most genuinely friend and hospitable hostes, who helped us with recommendations and checked on us during our meal. This place is truly delicious and I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to experience good Chinese (Shanghainese) food at affordable prices.
