Nguyen's Pho Viet — Restaurant in Vienna

TLDR: terrible unauthentic food, price≠quality, cash only, long wait

When we came into the restaurant, we were told by the boss that looked SE Asian that the wait time for food would be 30mins. I was thinking, maybe their food is so good it’ll worth the wait! Hey and the boss is Asian, should be great! We ordered two chicken pho. However, when I heard him pronouncing the word wrong, I knew something was off.

1st, they are stingy with the portion. The bean sprouts were not fresh. Look at the photo, trust me, I’m an Asian and when you see these carrots and other veggies being cut like this, the food is NOT authentic. Also, why’s there random shreds of lettuce in our soup? The veggies looked unappetising. Chicken was not tender, broth definitely is not cooked with meat& bones like it’s supposed to. And the pho was €14.9, outrageous when you consider the quality.

2nd, there were so many flies and mosquitoes in the restaurant, I came out itchy everywhere.

3rd, rude waiter.

Trust me, an Asian, not white ppl with dead taste buds who are giving 5stars to this place. Seriously tho, go for...

😣NEVER AGAIN! We went there on peak dinner time and only found 2 customers which could already indicate that this place isn’t good.

Food is NOT authentic at all. Lemongrass chicken was an absolute FAIL! No taste of lemongrass, chicken and taste was absolutely different. Tasted like a typical chinese stirfry with vegetables. It’s terrible that it ruined my mood and couldn’t even finish my food. But the waitress just said that it’s the correct way of cooking. Like hello, I’ve eaten lemongrass chicken many times, and even in Vietnam, this is far from the real one.

😣Spring rolls is also OVERPRICED. 2 small pieces for 5.50€?!

😣Not so good service, asked for hot water, but gave a cold one. they even charge 1€ for housewater.

😣No proper heating inside, I had to wear my coat all throughout, it’s so cold!

😣 kitchen vent not properly used so be prepared to have a smelly and stinky scent sticking on your clothes til you get home

😣Doesn’t accept card, cash only!

😣Don’t believe the good reviews here, must be something manipulated. Don’t even try coming in this place! TERRIBLY...

Wir kennen Nguyen‘s Pho House, Lerchenfelder Str. 46, schon länger und sind sehr zufrieden mit dem dortigem Essen. Endlich gibt es in der Nähe unsere Wohnung auch ganz tolles Vietnamesisches Essen. Im hohen Sommer sind wir einmal draußen gesessen. Damals haben wir Vietnamesische Eiskaffee mit Kondensmilch, Bahn Mi, zwei Hauptspeise mit Hühnerfleisch gegessen und haben mit dem Chef hat ganz humorvoll geredet. Seit letzten Monat gehe ich jede Woche 2-4 mal ins dieses Restaurant. Ich kann mich also„Stammkunden“ nennen. Das Essen ist immer so gut. Aber es gibt auch folgende Nachteile: Ich wollte gerne mal „marinierte pork chops“ probieren, aber jedes Mal wurde mir angekündigt, dass sie keine auf Lager haben. Nach einem Monat Versuch, gebe ich auf und wende mich der Fisch category zu. Leider ist er immer noch aus. Ich weiß nicht 🤔 wie man monatelang keine Fische bekommen kann? Kümmert der Chef sich nicht darum?

Die Wartezeit ist auch viel zu zu lang. Von hinsetzen bis Speisen servieren kann von 40 mins bis 90mins dauern.

Das Service ist viel zu viel unfähig. Unter meinem Verständnis ist Service nicht nur den Teller vor den Kunden stehen lassen. Die Service hier vergisst was die Kunden bestellt haben, mehr mals werden falsche Getränke gebracht ( trotzdem wird das Geld verrechnet) . Was witzig ist, man fragt was es heute an Nachspeise bei ihnen gibt ? Wenn ich Service wäre, würde ich die Speisen einfach vorstellen“ wir haben ganz tolles pandankuchen, mit gerösteten Erdnuss und süß-salzig Kokosnussmilch garniert….Uzw „ Aber die junge Dame sagt“ hier gibts unsere Speisenkarte“ hallo? ？ Meine Meinung nach spielt das Essen im einen Restaurant eine große Rolle aber Service darf nicht riesige Abstand mit Kochen haben. Sonst bringt es nur Enttäuschung.

我们跟这家店最初的结缘还要从老板的兄弟的店说起。那时候我们经常去九区的那家pho店。最近这家店开了以后，我三天两头去他们家打牙祭。最最开始是盛夏的某一天我们坐在店门口的遮阳伞下，享受着维也纳美好的夏日时光，我点了一杯越南咖啡，咖啡味和炼奶的味道非常浓厚，满满一大杯，杯子里的咖啡被厚实的冰块激得透心凉，大嘬一口非常爽。当时我们还点了一些前菜，印象深刻的是木瓜沙拉，牛肉沙拉，清爽酸甜非常开胃。越南法式三明治也非常好吃，面包主体没有法国本土法棍的坚硬难嚼，多了些许松脆柔软。里面的填充物更是让人胃口大开，恨不得一口把美味全吞进肚子里。

再后来就是最近一个月的频繁造访了。每周不去个两三次就会心心念念的那种。去那么多次自然菜单上的菜基本都认识了，但是很奇怪的是每次我想要点“腌猪肉碎”都没有这道菜，老板说是没货。额？一个多月都可以没货的吗？这是老板压根没订货还是物流差劲？最近鱼这个选项也干脆全部没有货。老板亲自掌勺每次出菜的品质是很有保证的。但是！服务人员的业务水平和态度实在和老板的烹饪水平差的不是一点半点。首先说那个黑人男生服务员。有一次，我跟他说明了我因为感冒，想要喝加热的他们自制的“凉茶” 。 结果他坚持这个茶就是故意弄冷了的为理由不给我加热。无语…可以给我再死板一些吗？就餐的时候因为只有筷子，我只能端着硕大的盘子吃饭，我也故意没叫他帮我拿勺子。他看见了也没有说给我添一个勺子。今天的女服务生更是好笑，从我进店到吃完饭，连问我喝什么都没有问。我老公跟她说我需要点喝的她才姗姗来迟，而且给我和我老公接连上的都是错的饮品？我去问老板，你们家没有某某某茶吗？老板说怎么没有，但是态度也是一副摆烂样：“你是跟我点的酒水吗？你跟谁点的跟谁说去，不要来找我！”我老公问那位女服务生：“你们今天有什么甜点？”她却说：“菜单在这里。”...
