NUSS cafe bar — Restaurant in Vienna

UPDATE: I’m updating the review below in response the owners weasel words in his/her answer. Trying to blame US! 😆 There was LOTS of space, no kids in the restaurant - we were all left speechless by how RUDELY we were received. At no point was any attempt made to explain why we couldn’t occupy the plentiful seating available - whoever greeted us took one look at six children and we were simply told to leave. Twice. We were dumbfounded. And I can’t stress this point enough: we’ve ALL been there before. The service is always lacklustre, food is average, but it’s local, so it’s convenient. We all live in the network of streets around the restaurant, our kids go to the school AROUND THE CORNER, and many of us work in the area. I personally can’t wait to tell my neighbours, fellow parents at the school, and everyone at work this VERY entertaining story. And what a poppycock offer of a „free lunch“! Like we’d all rock up with this Google review in hand and get given a free lunch 🤣. So, my advice to anyone still reading this: as a local I recommend the vastly superior PACO, right across the road.

Das Nuss Café zählt grundsätzlich zu den sehr guten Cafés in Wien und ist deshalb auch sehr gut besucht. Ich bin sehr häufig in diesem Lokal war jedes mal sehr zufrieden, sowohl von den Speisen und Getränken als auch von der Preisleistung und dem Servicepersonal! Als Wiener kann ich nur erwähnen, dass Wien “Anders“ ist! Und mit “Anders“ meine ich damit, dass leider Gottes jeder dritte Minderwertigkeitskomplexe und extremst unfreundlich, hinterhältig, egoistisch und verlogen ist! Seit längerer Zeit beobachte ich Rezensionen von diversen Lokalen und stoße jedes mal auf diverse „Patienten“, die an erster Stelle ein großes Problem mit sich selbst haben und bezugnehmend dazu immer negativ alles bewerten und schlecht kommentieren, weil nicht alles im Leben nach ihren Vorstellungen und Bedürfnissen läuft (deswegen auch diese Komplexe)! Unter anderem auch negative und schlechte Rezessionen zum Nuss Café, die ich realistisch nicht unterstütze oder nicht nachvollziehe! Meine Empfehlung grundsätzlich! Immer reservieren, nicht zu viele oder übertriebene Extrawünsche und freundlich zum Personal sein!!! Denn immerhin werdet ihr vom Service bedient, die euch die Getränke vorbereiten und servieren und die Speisen genauso servieren! Noch ein weiterer Punkt.. haltets euch an die mindestens 10% Regel betreffend des Trinkgeldes!

Zum Personal! Die Mitarbeiter sind immer stets bemüht, freundlich und fleißig! Jeder Mitarbeiter wird geschätzt, ernsthaft akzeptiert und nicht gemobbt oder sexuell misshandelt! Jeder Mitarbeiter hat seine Pausen und es ist nie zu einem Problem gekommen. Leider gibt es immer wieder schwarze Schafe bzw. ehemalige Mitarbeiter, bei denen nicht alles nach deren ihrer Pfeife passt und von denen sich der Dienstgeber nach mehrmaligem Ermahnungen und Gesprächen leider trennen musste! Im Zuge dessen kommt es dann natürlich zu negativen Bewertungen und schlechte Kommentare..

Ich als ehemaliger Mitarbeiter kann nur bestätigen, dass das Nuss Café ein wirklich sehr gutes Lokal ist und ich werde nach knapp zwei Jahren meiner Dienstzeit, immer und jederzeit herzlich begrüßt und bin jederzeit hochachtungsvoll...

I had the pleasure of visiting what is undoubtedly the best bar in the city, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. The service was exceptional — the staff went above and beyond, making sure every need was met with genuine care and attention.

The food was equally impressive. Each dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and full of flavor. Whether it was the small bites or the main course, everything was prepared to perfection. And as for dessert? The cookies — simply incredible! Fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor.
