Loved it! Despite coming without reservation on a Saturday evening, we were seated on a nice table by extremely kind personnel - fully fluent in english. The place itself is quite big, still very cozy and warm, with a lot of wood elements and a working fireplace, crowded with families of locals. The personnel was nice enough to recommend us some beer and food choices which we gladly followed - and they were simply amazing! The roast beef (just order it!) was to die for and the ribs portion was extremely generous with the meat just falling off the bones! Reservation recommended. I can recommend the red zwickel beer. There is complimentary bread on every table. The service was fast and very polite. Ordered beef tartare which was very tasty and comes with a toasted flat bread. The small portion can easily be shared by two people as a starter. The main dish, a roasted beef with roasted onions came with fried potatoes similar to wedges. The beef can be ordered in medium and well done. Decided for the medium temperature and was not disappointed. Meat is cooked to the point, very juicy and soft to bite. I agree with many of the other negative experiences of this place. The staff are the rudest I have experienced, not just in Vienna but worldwide. Waiters do barely the minimum service you can expect, most of the time just standing around and laughing amongst themselves and not paying the slightest attention to the customers. When paying we generously added a tip although they didn’t deserve it, and the waiter had the guts to just laugh and say that this wasn’t enough tip, and continued to be unpleasant and insult us. We will never come back to any Plachutta restaurant and I encourage other people to avoid them...
