This was easily the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. It was our last night in Vienna, and we were really looking forward to a great meal, but this restaurant ruined it. First, the menu was poorly translated, leading us to order what we thought was a pumpkin dish, only to discover it was actually a dessert. When our server asked if we wanted all the dishes at once, including dessert with our entrées, it was clear something was off.

The wild ragout I ordered was inedible. It was nothing more than dried-up deer meat in a sloppy brown sauce, with no flavor at all. The salad had partially old, soggy vegetables and tasted awful.

We didn’t touch the dessert, asked to have it removed from the bill, and were told the server would check. She never came back with an answer, but instead, whispered to the other servers and even pointed at us. It was rude, uncomfortable and unprofessional.

Something strange was happening with the manager, who was the only one dealing with payments at the tables. He spent the entire dinner sitting and eating with his friends while the other servers stopped working midway through a busy service to sit at the bar and eat. They blatantly avoided talking to us, and when I confronted the server about the 9 euro pumpkin dessert still on the bill, she rudely claimed she “told me” it was written on the menu (it wasn’t) and said she tried to give the dish (from our table) to someone else but couldn’t. Still, they refused to take it off.

I would never recommend this place. Not only was the food awful, but the service was even worse. Don’t waste your time...

EDIT: Owner responded and said "there is no menu item with bread", that's fine... but I didn't ask for bread! You cannot put bread on a table and charge the customer for it when it has not been requested.

TLDR, okay food, charged for items that we didn't ask for and slow service, wouldn't recommend.

Tried to book a list minute table but they didn't have any available, reserved a table for the next evening because of the reviews we'd seen online, however, we were severely let down

We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, we ordered food (small goulash and 2 x schnitzels), after 30 minutes the waiter brought our side dishes out: "Potato salad for the schnitzel and bread for the goulash", noting at this point that we had not requested bread, nor had we been asked if we wanted any bread. It then took another 10 minutes for our mains to be brought out, by this time the bread was cold, since our waitress was too busy checking in on a large group every 5 minutes (bigger tip!)

The food was okay, mediocre for the price. What really got us, however, was the fact that we were charged for the bread that we did not ask for and was placed on our table seemingly included in the meal.

After reading a few prior reviews, it seems there are some menu items that include bread, some that don't.... the point here, however, is that at no point had we requested or asked if we would...

Found this place on a list of places that offer gluten free options and so decided to give it a try. I didn't have a reservation but decided to go anyway and my first impression from the hostess was just that, bothered because I didn't have a reservation. I was seated and thankfully the waiter was super nice. As I'm looking over the menu the hostess comes over to ask me if I knew what I wanted and I said I had a question for the waiter. She seemed bothered, asked me what my question was, proceeded to answer me and take my order. Felt like she wanted me to finish quickly so she could have my table. I was pretty put off. But I'm not going to let her impact my overall rating!

Thankfully the food was good and like I said, my waiter was quite nice and accommodating. I ended up getting the turkey schnitzel with potatoes. The schnitzel was quite moist given that it was turkey. The potatoes didn't look appetizing but ended up being good. I think the hostess left cause I didn't see her after a while so I decided to order dessert!

Honestly I would come back so long as she's not working 😁 and I have a reservation.

Ate here on 7/27...

Since my wife has a gluten intolerance, we chose this place for dinner on our first night in Vienna. We tried one regular and one gluten-free veal schnitzel. The regular (gluten) schnitzel was average — I can’t say the meat was particularly tasty. The gluten-free schnitzel, on the other hand, was not successful. The breading didn’t stick to the meat at all, and more than half of it fell apart with just a few bites. There are two types of gluten-free beer available. Both were quite good. The service was friendly but a bit slow. Prices are slightly above the Vienna average. For a traditional Austrian restaurant located outside the city center and offering not a lot more than the gluten-free options, I’d say the prices are quite high.
