The server was great and really helped us out with booking us a table so we could return back for dinner.
We had a huge meal and it was great!! Definitely worth it. We were craving kbbq and there's only like 3 places in Vienna. 1 is far and the other one in the market had rude staff.
His English was alright, he explained the dishes to us which was a really nice touch. I don't normally see staff explaining food. He did it all on his own.
I went with my cousin who probably didn't know the food so it helped her. Then I'd just explain it better/ how to eat.
We spent a lot and tip but it was sooooo good. We were craving it. I've lived in Korea for so many years and it's so cheap there. This was like 10x the price but I enjoyed it.
He actually asked the table next to us to sit somewhere else and gave us the extra table so we could fit all the food we ordered. We ordered about 4 peoples worth of food and ate everything except for some kimchi and sesame leaves.
The stew was spicier than I expected in a Western place, but I liked it.
There was a worker who came around every so often checking, I think was the owner or chef, as he helped people with how to eat.
There was a large group in the corner who were really noisy and annoying... it was funny because my cousin asked if that's what Koreans do and I said no. It was a mixed group of inconsiderate customers. All the other customers were so kind. There was one pair who made a payment problem but I saw that the staff handled it well.
I'd recommend getting aprons if you're not good at cooking or scared. We didn't use any though but the oil will...
Read moreIf you want to have a real Korean BBQ in Vienna, this is absolutely NOT the place. We were a party of 5 Korean bbq lovers wanted to try Sang Sang for the first time. First of all, the restaurant definitely is not equipt with the right Korean bbq exhaust fans, so you expect to stink like bbq at the end of your dinner unpleasantly. The bulgogi meat was tasteless?? If you fail Bulgogi how come this is a Korean BBq? Plus, in a every Korean BBQ in the world kimchi and other small side dishes are complementary and they are served on demand even though the main order is a few euros/dollars more. That makes KBbq fun in my opinion. That is not the case here. They need to be ordered as extra in addition to your meat order, even the rice and veggies. We paid around 35 per person more more or less and we were not full at all at the end of our meal. How is this possible in a KBbq? Not recommended, for the ones looking for a real KBbq experience and the ones looking to be...
Read moreThe food at this restaurant was good! However, the service left much to be desired. Despite this, our waiter insisted on a 10% tip - my tip, he claimed, was insufficient. If the staff of this restaurant expect to operate under American tipping standards, then I also expect the kind of friendliness, courtesy, and constant smiles I'm used to seeing in the US. But no, the waiter even felt it necessary to rudely implore and lecture me and my little daughter. Someone with a less sunny disposition might not have taken it so lightly. These people are paid appropriately and protected by collective work agreements by Austrian law. Tips are for -good- service, period, and I won't tolerate being harassed - this was probably our last visit here and I advise anyone who wants to avoid a similar poor experience to steer clear of this place. Because, after all, I can be begged for money on the street, and usually by people who are a lot...
