Viki's Pub so oder so — Restaurant in Vienna

Our hotel was nearby and after searching google maps for local bars we found a positive review for the bar and gave it a visit. The inside of the bar was fairly small but they had an outside seating area. The owner, Viki, welcomed us with open arms and a free drink as we were considered ' family '. As the night wore on the bar filled with mainly locals but they were all extremely friendly. The bar plays a mixture of music and Viki insisted that we choose our favourite bands/tracks which she subsequently played. Although Viki runs the bar generally by herself, when it got busy most of the locals went behind the bar and helped out. We were only in Vienna for 4 nights but we went to Viki's 3 times and enjoyed each night. The prices are reasonable and on the last night she presented us with a bottle of local sparkling wine which she had inscribed with our names. We were looking for a cozy, atmospheric bar after roaming the streets of Vienna all day. As complete foreigners to the country, we couldn’t have been more welcomed in this small, beautiful and homely bar. Viki was lovely, customising our beer choices relative to our nationalities (one of us had Puntigamer for being French, it was really good!) when boredom hits, you are welcome to play a game of chess on a handmade chessboard by Viki’s husband, otherwise some fussball and darts! When it was time to unfortunately leave this paradise, Viki then poured us some refreshing Berliner Luft to wish us a warm goodbye. If visiting Vienna Viki’s Pub is a must! Ps. We've been visiting Vienna for the last week and have stopped by Viki's Pub three times. Each and every time we've been overwhelmed by the affection and fun that all the people seem to be experiencing at this Pub. There's a wide variety of visitors and Viki herself welcomes them all sometimes playing the hammer game and sometimes just bringing out a plate of three cheese. They have a nice selection of draft beers as well as a bunch more in bottles as well as lots and lots of different liquids that are bound to please every palate.
