Rude security and dog haters. There were no signs that dogs are not allowed in the garden! When I did enter with kids and a dog (trained and social dog on a short leash and even with muzzle and walking next to us, showing no aggression or even any interest to other people), security moved directly towards us and pointed to the dog. On my questions why, he showed me a sign on the opposite side from us which was pointing towards a small green area. He completely ignored my question why there is no sign on entrance and that the sign restricts only a small green area. It was also obvious that he understood english, but instead he started speaking loudly and used his hands and did look aggressive. As a result, me and my children remained outside the gates waiting for my wife, who was on an excursion at the time.

The 1st place I visited on my 3 day F1 Trip I bought a 2 day Vienna Pass as I only had one full free day to explore Vienna which was Saturday. Be warned that the pass is from start of day not time you collect. I knew this before hand, and was willing to lose half a day on my arrival day (Friday) As the Palaces had just changed there opening hours to upto 9pm on Fridays and are free admission with the pass. I am not sure how long these times are for. So again be warned and check opening times online for the most upto date timings. The grounds are free to enter anyway up until closing time. The ground are lovely well kept and very clean even at around 6 - 7 pm it was still very clean.

I thought that the two palaces (Schonbrunn and Belvedere would be the highlight of our trip to Vienna but both were underwhelming. I think this was the nicer of the two, we enjoyd the botanical gardena and the gardens were slightly nicer. However, were expecting there to be more flowers and plants, there's a lot of paths and gravel and hedges but not much in the way of actual gardens as we have seen in other places. All the fountains were off and empty which was disappointing given the nice weather. We enjoyed a short walk around the area and got a few good photos with the pond behind the Palace that had some water in. Overall it was worth a visit but, was underwhelming.

The Baroque gardens of the Belvedere palace in Vienna rank among the finest and most historically significant gardens in Europa. The main Baroque garden is placed between Lower and Upper Belvedere. There is also the oldest Alpine garden in Europe which houses the Austrian Federal Gardens' valuable historical Alpine plant collection. The gardens are open daily and are free to visit. On the south side of the Upper Belvedere there is a lovely decorated pond. The Upper Belvedere’s monumental façade reflects in it and if there is no wind, the mirroring effect is stunning.

This is a world class display of beautiful art and architecture. Seeing the kiss in person is something that I will remember hopefully for the rest of my life. My only critique would be the presentation and lighting in the room where the kiss is on display could be improved. I am certain that someone has raised the issue in the past about the glare off the glass caused by the high intensity lights on the ceiling. No matter where I stood to view the painting a glare from the lights reflection was visible. If you are in Vienna this is a wonderful place to visit!
