Trattoria Calitto — Restaurant in Villach

Recently a new owner has overtaken this well-known restaurant and we were impressed of the menu. It really suits our expectations… delicious Italian food cooked from a real/native chef from Trieste! The new owner is a young motivated person who has great potential to grow! It’s absolutely worth to go there! For the side dishes I would recommend to add potatoes/french fries and rice for children as no pizza is served any longer and for kids the menu might not look as delicious as for adults ;-) Still go there… it’s fully worth to spend your time & money at this...

Great place for diner. Italian dishes like you eat them in Italy which is no surprise since it’s run by an Italian family. Only the profiteroles were a bit too much of everything. But I guess that’s because it’s French. We had diner on carnival Saturday and it was a quiet evening when we arrived at 7 o clock.m so we were served quickly. Most friendly staff. Hatte mich auf original italienisches Essen jenseits von Pizza gefreut. War auch gerne bereit etwas mehr zu zahlen. Am Ende waren es 43€. Spaghetti Vongole als ersten Gang. Relativ wenig Geschmack und extrem dicke Spaghetti. Zweiter Gang Cozze in Weßweinsouce mit Knoblauch. Souce war ca 1cm Höhe im Gefäß. Wenig im Vergleich zu dem was ich kenne. Keine Zwiebeln, Gemüse oder Knoblauch in der Souce. Die Muscheln waren von guter Qualität aber etwas härter wie gewohnt und kalt. Vielleicht war es die wenige Souce. Knoblauch war dann noch roh und gehackt über die Muscheln gestreut. Nachspeise lecker. Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam. Hatte das nicht in einem so gut bewerteten Restaurant erwartet. Danach bin ich sowie die anderen Kollegen noch hungrig gewesen. Alles in allem nur drei Sterne da Preis Leistung...
